John gave me an AMAZING haircut! He literally sat down and listened to me, and what I wanted to achieve. He somehow managed to get rid of a lot of damage with minimal loss of length. He is amazing. I have always had great hair artists, but unfortunately I’ve never been able to properly describe what I want and I’m never totally happy with the results. But John COMPLETELY understood me. He actually listened and I’m so thankful that he did because my self esteem skyrocketed!! Thank you so much John! See you in a few weeks!!

I love my hair!! I am very picky with my hair & who touches it so it took me 5 years to find a salon & someone who knows how to do hair for someone who is picky like me & when I went in with my husband, I showed John 3 different styles & he combined them & did an amazing job. Also If you are a fan of the moroccan oil products, they are having 25% off on that brand. The owner was very sweet & has created a beautiful salon that I will recommend to family & friends & will be returning myself in the future.

John Vike did a great job with my hair. He is friendly, listened to me and did exactly what I wanted. And gave some good suggestions too! I love my hair!

I got connected with Kat for my first visit and she was amazing! I’ve been struggling with low confidence and I never know what to do with my hair. The consultation was probably pretty difficult for her because of these factors but she didn’t rush and we decided to do something safe and close to what I already had. She took her time, gave lots of good suggestions and advice. Told me I was beautiful and made me feel beautiful. I’m pretty shy/awkward but she made me feel comfortable.

The salon is clean and organized. The hairdressers are friendly and professional.
Natasha was my hairstylist. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. She went over everything she was going to be doing to achieve this look. She brought over a book with different hair colors. She had me choose which highlight and lowlight I wanted. She used some amazing heat protecting stuff on my hair and gave me a sample to try at home. My experience was awesome.

EXCELLENT experience in every way!! I had my first appointment with Jennifer yesterday, after searching online for a salon (chose this one based on posted reviews, and couldn't be happier). If you are looking for a highly skilled stylist whose sole concern is first determining and then fulfilling exactly what her customer wants, I highly, highly recommend Jennifer. There were two other stylists there during my appointment as well, and they also seemed to be amazing. Very relaxed atmosphere too. If you are tired of enduring overpriced services (the results of which often leave you underwhelmed) by bored, rushed, or otherwise negative stylists, I suggest giving Salon Mariposa a try!

Jennifer is such a lovely person! She really pays attention to all of the details and makes sure to thuroughly ask about what you want. She is also very knowledgeable and really knows what she's doing. My hair is really thick and crazy and generally difficult but she knew exactly what to do with it. On top of all of that, she's very insightful and an all-around wonderful person. They also keep your formula on record so that any of the stylists there can give you what you're looking for. I've never heard of that and thought it was a really good idea! I would highly recommend this salon :). Thank you Jennifer!

Stephanie is the best! I've gone to Salon Mariposa for over a year and Stephanie is the best! She's done my haircuts, color, facials and waxing. My hair doesn't take as long to process as many people's and she listened to me rather than doing what SHE thought was best. She's also very good at helping me decide what kind of haircut to get. My facial was also SO relaxing, she's personable, sweet and fun! Go to Salon Mariposa!

I love salon mariposa! I have getting my hair cut by Jennifer for about 3 years and she is amazing with my wavy/curly hair. She has great knowledge and experience with curl patterns and my first hair cut with her was the first good haircut I've ever received. Every hair cut since has been perfect. I haven't gotten my hair cut anywhere else since. Very reasonable price too.

Had my hair done by Carrie today, she did exactly what I wanted, only better. I was so scared to go to someone new because my sister usually does my hair, but she NAILED IT! And the whole service was about exactly what I would hope/expect to pay. Cute little salon with really sweet, beautiful gals to do your hair. I would highly recommend!

Stephanie is amazing. She is gifted and skilled at everything hair (cut, color, style, etc.) as well as cosmetology. She is also very friendly and delightful. Salon Mariposa is a fun, one-stop boutique beauty shop providing hair, nails, and waxing in a nice relaxed atmosphere. I did not have a regular place or person I went to before coming here, but now rely on Stephanie to keep me looking awesome! Also very convenient online booking and they do text reminders before your appointment, which is a life saver for me and my hectic schedule!

This is such an amazing salon! The environment is fun and clean and nice. The owner is a joy and the staff are knowledgeable and skilled. Dominique is such a pleasure to have as a stylist. She's thorough, kind, efficient, and does such great work with both cuts and color. She did the most amazing color correction for me. I had pink stripes from old fashion color that just wouldn't budge and she worked her magic and corrected the color leaving me with a beautiful balayage ombre! Definitely recommend for anyone who needs clipper cuts as well.

Today I attended Mariposa's Grand opening of their new location. What a nice improvement over the last location. Easier access and a more open feel to the salon. Three women in the group gave very positive shout outs regarding their experiences. And I must admit, for a pretty long time I noticed these women had great hairdos! So, now I know their secret. The salon looks very clean and there's a variety of stylist to choose from. Although I live in on the opposite side of town, my next hair cut will be here! Highly recommend.

Dominque did an amazing job on my hair color and cut!! I love the Atmosphere there. She was very thorough with everything she was doing. She also made sure I was completely satisfied with everything. Did an amazing blow out job after finished over all I recommend going to see her. As I will be returning for more service in the future!!

Stephanie is the fourth stylist I have been to since moving to the Portland area two years ago. I have curly hair that looks best a certain way. She is the first stylist that has left me immediately loving what she did. She has made a repeat customer for sure! She has a great personality too! So do yourself a favor and check her out.

Salon Mariposa has been the nicest salon i have gone to in a very long time. I've been having bad hair experiences but Dominique patiently fixed my long dried out hair! The whole atmosphere was very nice, the people were helpful and friendly and i even got a little christmas gift! Dominique you rock! My trip from Vancouver was worth it! :-)
