Fuji Japanese Restaurant

Second time me and my friend have ate here. I ordered the indiana and california roll. The first time was a godzilla roll. Food came out exceptionally fast both times. Waitress is always on her game when it comes to refills. I've tried a different roll every time I went and I've never been let down. Everything here is SUPER fresh. This place is on par with higher end sushi places at a lower cost. Don't hesitate give this place a chance

This is definitely the best sushi place in the area, and I’m so glad to have found this place. Their sweet potato tempura roll is very good, and we also had the Dream Roll. I can’t wait to come back and try some of the other delicious looking items on their extensive menu. Great service, fresh ingredients and affordable prices for what you get.

Really good & very reasonably priced sushi. Huge menu with lots of options. Seafood soup itself was worth going back for & bringing extra home for later. Salmon dinner for two was perfect to bring home for my daughter. A new favorite stop on my way home from the Indiana Dunes. Will be going again!

We have been regular customers of Fuji for over 15 years. The quality, service, and atmosphere is consistent every single time. The family that owns the establishment knows regulars and greets them warmly. We absolutely love sushi, we are kind of snobs, this is the only place to go in the region. No one else has anything on them for variety and consistent quality delivering. Thank you, Fuji!

Had a wonderful time here they had a large range of food. They have a really big selection of shrimp that I will be making a trip back for. The bento box was perfect for a nice lunch. Inexpensive and delicious! The salad had a really good dressing on it that I could not get enough of.

Best sushi in Northwest Indiana. The service is always friendly, the sushi is fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is great. It's my go-to sushi place.

Fuji is the best all around Japanese sushi bar, their Salmon Dons are amazing, just the right amount of vinegar and presto I think I'm in Iwakuni Japan eating at a authentic restaurant there, minus being on the floor and with no shoes on, but I have to say, out of all the places in the are, this is an up and coming place, gotta love the small guys too, that's how a lot of these big time chains and restaurants started like this one, so again, wether it's your first date or a night out with friends or taking the kids for their first Miso or tempura, you definitely won't be disappointed

Always a quiet room to eat and very fresh and delicious sushi. Staff is nice and makes good recommendations.

I've been coming here for over 10 years and plan to continue to dine here. The quality is always consistent and delicious. Items are fairly priced, restaurant is clean and decorated tastefully, and staff are friendly. There is a nice variety of options from raw rolls to cooked rolls. Easily one of the best restaurants in Portage.

They don't do fancy, but they do serve very good sushi.

I've been going here for years and have had nothing but great experiences. The pink banana roll is absolutely amazing. Banana tempura in sushi sounds super weird, but I promise that it's delicious.

This little place is big on quality, and I have almost never been disappointed with the food. It was packed for a Friday evening, with people waiting for tables. We decided on spring rolls for an appetizer, and they seem to have been fried for just a little too long. The flavor in both the rolls and the ginger syrup served along with it was all there, though. The freshly made sushi and California roll special we ordered was a great value for the price. I need to visit here more often!

I've been going to Fuji since high school. It was our favorite restaurant as teens and continues to be a staple amongst my friends well in our 30s. Fuji never disappoints and the quality has never waivered. Great food, quality and quantity for price is a steal.

I had been years since I first visited so I decided to go and experience it. I must say that it is nice to have a restaurant so close that has a variety of great sushi. The ambience was cozy and beautifully decorated. The service was great as well, even as I was there when it was busy. Hope to experience it again soon.

This is the best sushi in the area. The 5 rolls we ordered were all phenomenal. They have a large menu, so I’m excited to go back and try more of the menu. The service was great and the prices are very reasonable.

I had the Tokyo Roll. As indicated by others, ingredients were fresh, and the roll was freshly made when I ordered. It was delicious, and the perfect protein snack on a hot day!
