We've had a very good experience at the SE VCA, over multiple visits.

Our dog Audrey had a difficult-to-diagnose pancreas deficiency and was dropping weight.

Dr. Holmes helped us navigate a series of tests and was able to pinpoint the issue to get Audrey the medicine she needed. She's now much healthier and has gained back all of her lost weight.

Audrey is also very anxious at the vet, and all of the vets at VCA have shown patience and compassion to her, and a willingness to meet her halfway to get her the care she needs.

Good folks here.

My wife and have had to put down our beloved Great Pyrenes, Capone last week. VCA Southeast Portland Animal Hospital helped us through the most difficult grieving process and allowed us the compassion we truly needed. Extremely respectful and professional team members. I am so glad that they were there for us. There after hours emergency allowed us to give our Capone of 17 years a peaceful goodbye. They placed us in a private room and provided Capone with some medicine that allowed him to be calm and pain free and let us say good bye to our best friend with out trying to make us move or rushing us. I cannot say enough about this staff and how they handled our situation. I hope that the community can see what I saw last week with amount of help, guidance and passion they have for animals. Thank you for making such a difficult situation more bearable for our family. We are lost with our Capone but we know you helped him pass that rainbow bridge with dignity and pain free.

They took amazing care of my dog in a stressful emergency situation! Take your fur babies here if you want top notch service/care for you and your pet! Thank you Stark VCA staff!!!

I had to take my cat to the emergency room. The people working there were very friendly and professional. My cats situation did not end well. However, they helped me and my family through the difficult time. Very impressed with the team there

They saved my kitties life on a Saturday morning, after he was attacked by another cat. Due to his injuries, my normally docile and sweet kitty became aggressive. They were able to get him in quickly, and get him into surgery. I was able to take him home later that day. By the next morning he was back to being my sweet, snuggly boy. I am so very thankful for the staff who were caring and incredibly helpful. Thank you for saving my kitty 🐈‍⬛

I can't share enough with you on how pleasant our experience was with
Dr. Larson while helping our sick cat come to end of life with peace and support. We have had bad experiences here in the past, yet the doctor and her staff made sure to listen and discuss until they made us feel comfortable and sure it wasn't going to happen again.
We were with our pet for their last peaceful breath and it was Dr. Larson who made sure it was as comfortable as it could be for all involved.
It is sad that this location (my family's vet for over 30 years) sold out to the current company awhile ago, because the new policies, prices and ways have cost them patients, families and reviews. However you will find
Dr. Larson to be a smooth diamond amongst the changes offering care, compassion and empathy.

I had a very good experience at this office and am very thankful for all of their care. They were the only ones open and able to take an emergency visit for my cat day-of and I was very happy with the thorough information and recommendation from Dr. Johnson to move her to the VCA pet hospital. Ultimately, it was evident our kitty was not going to recover so we took her in early one morning. The staff was very professional and gave excellent care to us, ushering us into a private room which was thoughtfully set up for the end of life process. Dr. Larson was absolutely incredible and I can't thank her enough for her professionalism, empathy, and care for our situation. The entire process was smooth, letting us focus on letting our kitty go, and I appreciated our conversation to put our minds at ease that this was the correct decision. I highly recommend this office and the staff working here.

I took my dog in Wednesday 12/27 and had an excellent experience, both Dr. Currah and the vet techs (esp Cameron) were so helpful and their diagnosis ended up being correct & saved me a tooonn of money by not forcing my dog get surgery, which a third party had recommended. My dog is very high anxiety and they treated him with much gentleness and compassion.

This is the second time I've had to take him there, but they first time was during covid restrictions so I did not enter so I can't speak as much about that experience.

I can’t say enough good things about VCA. Had an emergency on a Sunday a year ago, they got us in (it’s important to know that walk in animal ERs have all but gone away in Portland). Staff was quick, friendly, thorough and informative. Feels weird to recommend a place that I hope to never have to see again, but if you have an animal emergency, call vca, they are awesome!

An emergency trip to the vet on a weekend is never fun for anyone! They were able to get us in quickly and we're fantastic. Great communication from the moment we arrived, detailed updates throughout the process and we were home with detailed instructions for home care and possible follow up. Great service, friendly caring staff. Can't thank them enough.

I had a late night emergency with my dog this was the closest 24-hour vet I could find. we rushed my dog in and she was dying, and they literally saved her life. she just had 4 puppies 3 days prior. all of my dogs have their vet care their. They have all been spayed their shots anyting you name it they've done it. They're one of the few places that do a pet plan it was about $900 for the Spain all the shots all the visits blood work everything for a year and unlimited visits and I was able to make monthly payments which made a fantastic cuz I had 3 animals to do at once.

So so thankful. Took my pup in Saturday after him being sick a couple of days. Entire staff was so friendly and supportive. Took him home that night with high hopes. Sunday morning he was great but started to decline again (which they told me to watch for). They politely put up with call after call from me with questions and when I took him back in, helped me find quick surgeon who could help. Ripleys surgery will be starting shortly and without the amazing support of the staff here, I for sure would have lost more sweet baby. I can never thank you all enough!!!!

My dog is scared of other dogs and new people. They were very accommodating and helpful. They got us into a room immediately. We saw Dr. Holmes and she was so patient and kind to my dogs. She took extra time trying to get to know them and went out of her way to make sure my dog wasn't overly terrified. Overall, I feel like we had a good experience there and I would take them again.

After calling 5 different places even my own vet, this location saw my doggie whom I thought may have a broken bone from my 50lb pit bull jumping on him.i was a walk in so I waited a bit but that is to be expected with no appt. They got my info quickly and took my doggie back to a room, all very nice and explained things very well.i have been there before and I won't be wasting my time elsewhere when I have an emergency. BTW no broken bones, thanks everyone!

VCA Southeast Portland animal Hospital is awesome. I bought a corgi puppy which ended up getting parvovirus, and VCA did a test and admitted him instantly. They administered IV as well as an anabiotic shot and antinausea medication to help with the symptoms. The following day he had one more follow up IV to keep him hydrated. I’m thankful for their help and catching it so quick which attributed to his survival. I would definitely recommend going to them.

We had a great experience at VCA Southeast hospital when our cat mysteriously couldn't keep anything down, and we highly recommend them for urgent animal care. Every single staff member was personable, cheerful, and patient. The clinical staff gave clear follow-up instructions verbally and in writing, and the clinic itself was well-designed and has its own parking lot. I have nothing but good things to say and highly recommend!

Our dog had an eye injury which we needed to get checked out. Everybody was very friendly. The vet, Dr Johnson, was warm and competent.

We had a cat that needed urgent care, came to VCA on Friday afternoon and were seen immediately upon arrival. The vet was very thorough and explained everything well, asked us really good questions, diagnosed the problem fast. The clinic is no longer 24 hrs as it used to be before COVID, but they said they are trying to hire more staff to get back to round the clock operations. Our cat is not happy that he now has to wear the cone of shame and be forced to take medication, but we are grateful for the care he received at this clinic.

Was pretty sure my cat swallowed my sewing needle. Came here and they did an amazing job. Got x-rays and yep, needle was in my poor cat's throat, lodged sideways. Dr. Larson was great and got the needle out. Were in and out really fast and the support staff were friendly and kind. The price was nowhere near what I expected for after hours care, and they did me a solid and recoded the x-ray to be a pre surgery x-ray to make it more affordable. I'll keep my needles away from my cat so I'm hoping I don't have to come here again, but definitely will be my first choice in a catastrophe.
