Good neighbor market

Surprising selection of food, just nothing has a price on it but the alcohol. Though candy bars are the same price as most convienence stores, AND they have those shrimp chips I like! So good to find those within walking distance! Nice little store overall.

I have lived in a few different places all within this neighborhood since 2010. This has been the corner store for all of those locations. I've never had a negative experience. The staff is fairly consistent and everybody is friendly and respectful.

There's A LOT that happens in and around this neighborhood; per its location the front of the store and its parking lot is almost a default magnet to situations and people who might not be having the best day. I've witnessed many situations with various magnitudes of severity over the years. All situations were handle decently and with dignity by this store staff. Even situations that almost automatically would've resulted in any other store calling the police. I have witnessed staff be absolute, direct and firm but still respectful and successful at getting a person to move along or de-escalating a situation long enough to clear it from the grounds.

Also one notable experience is the safety of a skirt that seems to always be at the forefront of the mind of those that work there. Especially at night but any time and especially if there are people hanging in front of the store (for any reason even patronizing a business next-door) I have witnessed store staff escort women and children to their vehicle or stand watch until the customer is secured in their vehicle. To my knowledge, no one asked for this but that makes it all the more genuine & welcomed. That's just one of the reasons that even though I now live 20-25 mins away, I still patronize this store often and I intended to keep doing so.
PS - can we talk about the music that is often playing in the store? Better than any dance club in the city. I absolutely love it!

Very helpful people there. I am in a wheelchair and cannot get to everything and they help me every time. I see the review below me and it must’ve been a mistake because I’ve lived here for seven years I get notifications on my phone and they’ve never taken more than it cost.

Good small store with good crew working there

This store is being audited for ILLEGAL SURCHARGES. The manager was confronted about it but said she didn’t care. They’ve been reported to BBB and BOLI. They’ve been overcharging black neighborhoods for years and the racism specifically from this location will be ending. Thank you.

2nd time they tried to rip me off. Used my card and got the usual notification but when I looked it was twice the cost of what I bought. Went back and the cashier, some short skinny guy with dark brown hair argued that the marked price actually said three times the usual price and the price of the exact same one still on the shelf. Blatantly attempted the theft of my money. I don't appreciate that. If you go here get your receipt. I wonder how many people didn't notice.
