Grindstone Charley's

Me and my wife just got done running errands for our FB Group Kate's Kauz and we were shot. Feeling tired and hungry we were trying to figure out somewhere quick to grab something to eat. It was already 10pm on a Saturday night and you know here in Lafayette there are not many choices at that hour.
We just happened to be driving past Grindstone Charlie's. It looked empty so we thought it was closed but, to our surprise it was open until 11.
We were treated to one of the best meals we have ever eaten. The french onion soup was so good I was impressed. (Not easy to do as I am a cook myself). My wife had a steak topped salad that was so huge she took most of it home.
Our server, Bret, was so attentive and polite I felt like I was at a relative's house for a holiday dinner. The manager, Rob, even stopped by to ensure we had everything we desired...

I want to personally thank Bret and Rob for such a memorable experience in a town where most restaurants are just rushing trying to rush out the door at that time of the night. WE'LL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!!

I ordered an appetizer platter of potato skins, BBQ bone in wings and Stuffed 'Shrooms that were giant cream cheese stuffed caps.
All were wonderful and mouth watering.
My husband had a ground beef taco salad and it was also delicious.

Very great food and drinks super friendly staff, tried the Moscow mule and the blueberry mule both very good, kids loved the smoothies and milkshake and the burgers we got was very good as well. Definitely will be returning!

Haven't been here in years. The food is still the same, excellent. The server, kaytianne, was excellent. Got the lunch portion phat man special (tenderloin). Just as tasty as always.

My first experience with grindstone Charley's and I was very impressed. We had Chris and she was very cordial. Highly attentive but not in the annoying overbearing way. She went above and beyond to make us pleased with our service. The farmhouse burger was excellent and the bomb pop drink was quite delightful. Slightly sweet and like a raspberry lemonade and not over powering with alcohol. The bartender visited our table to make sure we enjoyed our drinks and an additional server stopped by to make sure we had been taken care of. I was highly impressed. Thank you all and particularly Chris!

Love their fried green tomatoes. Staff were super friendly and food is always very good. Only complaint was there was a very strong odor in the lobby where the hostess station is. Other than that always 5 stars.

Very nice staff. My waitress was great. I got a patty melt, onion rings, and coleslaw. The coleslaw was great, it's home made. The patty melt is on rye bread with fried onions. Really good. VERY CLEAN. Staff all have masks on. The waitress cleaned and sanitized the tables between customers. Really nice place.

We choose this place often when my grandparents travel to and from Florida to Michigan they always stop to have dinner with us and always aske to come here. Its really good food and service. The staff is always nice. We usually get sat in the back which we love since we are alone and can talk and let my 2 year old run around a bit with bothering other guests.

I have lunch and supper here 2-4 times a month. They have a great variety of meals at a very reasonable price. The food is always served in a timely manner and it's hot when they bring it out! The bartender, Brett, does a phenomenal job! He goes over and above to ensure that you enjoy your dining experience!

Visited with a group of 15. We called ahead and the hostess and manager were very friendly and told us to come on in. When we arrived we were met with a smile and immediately seated. The place is clean and has a good menu including craft beer. The food and service was good and we would return again.

The food and service are consistently fantastic! Many delicious menu options whether you’re wanting something fresh and healthy, comfort food, or just a little bit of both. We door dash here too when we are too lazy to leave the house and it’s still just as good.

We were a party of 6, everyone ordered something different and everyone loved it! I thought my shrimp was small but very well done. The staff was very friendly, I would definitely go there again.

Eat here often- Love the food! Just want to let everyone know, that even with the changes regarding social distancing, you can still order for pickup or DoorDash delivery. The food is still exceptionally prepared and packed safely and securely. Looking forward to dining in, but right now, GC's still provides excellent food and service!!

The food was good. The waitress was excellent, the best we have had in a long time. Can't remember her name, but she had dark hair and we were served in the bar. She is awesome.

Great atmosphere, food and service. Spinach dip was the best we’ve ever had. Our server was Adam and was very helpful with our selections for dinner. Never had to ask him for anything he was already on it.

Great atmosphere & excellent service from Brett!! Management is exceptional also. Food is absolutely amazing. Try the fried pickles... Mmmm good stuff!!! We will definitely return. Ty Grindstone, for a great dinner outing with the hubby❣

Great service. Steak was a bit over done but a manager came over to see how we were doing and when I let her know she immediately solved my dinner mates steak issue. We all had a good visit.

Found Grindstone Charley's what a awesome restaurant. Great food & Jordan was fantastic. My husband had their pork tenderloin & I had a steak , baked potatoe & ceasar salad . Everything was super tasty . We also had their Sugar cream pie which was phenomenal. Thank you for a wonderful meal & great service .

My favorite restaurant in Lafayette! I go with my fiancé at least once a month. I eat a gluten free diet, and they are very accommodating with an expansive gluten free menu. I always have a great dining experience, and the staff consistently provides exceptional service. The food is amazing and we love the atmosphere.

My first visit, the mushrooms are delicious!! They are a meal in itself. I also ordered the half rack of ribs and fried catfish meal. Everything was great including the waitress!! I'll be returning soon!
