Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint

OMG, this view is literally everything! 😍 I could legit spend all day just soaking up the waves and nature vibes. So. Freaking. Gorgeous. 🙌

What a sweet spot on the central Oregon coast! There is not a lot of parking available, and the beach is rather small. There is a lot of rocky coast with abundant tide pools. A stream runs by the view point and empties into the ocean. The small cliff face is a geological wonder, showing an ancient river bed, lava flows, and sedimentary sandstone. High tide limits the seaside playground, but low tide opens up a wide swath of sand for the young and old to enjoy. This is not the typical agate beach, but I was able to find a few, which was a surprise. This is a day use area, and there is a pit toilet on site. It was clean, but the "pit" was very ripe with ammonia fumes that burned my eyes and throat. There are 2 picnic tables on site, protected from the ocean breeze by a low hedgerow. All in all, this is a great spot to enjoy the Oregon coast. I highly recommend it.

I have found some Of my most favorite agates here. There is also some amazing scenery when the waves hit the rocks and sounds like a Tumblr when they go back out to The Ocean.

Nice little beach. Provides a nice walk through tide pool areas. The beach also offers great views of crashing waves onto the rocky shore. A lot of cairns were build around many of the rocky outcroppings. Allowed us the opportunity to escape 95° heat to a welcome 63° breeze. Great place!

Gorgeous stop! There's a bridge and a little trail to the fresh water that goes into the ocean. Bathroom, picnic tables, and beach access.

Lovely beautiful beach with characters. Long stretch with some big rocks and a creek. The ocean water is cold but the creek is not. It's a perfect beach to enjoy both! Fine soft sand to walk on.

Loved the view of the Pacific ocean, the walking on the sand. Happy about The 🚻 restroom. Loved slower vibe. Moderate privacy as. We saw few people.

Just gorgeous! What an incredible view! And we saw a pod of grey whales!!! You're able to drive the entire way up and it's an easy trail walk to the overlooks, which is great for a semi-mobile disabled person such as myself.

We stopped here because it was the first place we saw that had bathrooms. It's a really pretty place though with scenic beach views and a nice creek. It's also really forest-y and is a great place to have a bathroom break and walk around for a little while or even spend an afternoon! The beach was pretty rocky in some spots. I think there was some picnic tables and hiking trails there as well.

I wanted to do a sunset beach bonfire while staying in Yachats with the wife and kids. Came across this gem and LOVED it. Right off 101, EASY beach access. Pet and kid friendly, plenty to do Oregon-Coast wise. Will be back for many years 😎

Such a beautiful spot to watch the sunset! I've lived on the Oregon Coast for 20+ years and this was my first time going to this beach. Highly recommend!!!!

Went here on a foggy rainy day in December with my little family. It was hightide so there wasn't much exploring, but still an amazing place to enjoy! Will definitely go back on a clearer day!

Such a sweet beach for playing on & exploring tide pools. Be mindful of the tide though, it comes in fast and high!

Very dog friendly! The area had a handful of people on a Sunday and allowed us to have a sense of privacy for an hour. Beautiful views and many cool things to see!

Perfect wayside stop to stretch and eat something. There was a break in the clouds and the kids enjoyed some beach time. Really pretty stretch of coastline flanking Neptune beach. We couldn't have been happier with our stop here.

They say the Oregon coast is one of the most beautiful in all of North America, and that isn’t a lie. This spot is one of the best I’ve found along this stretch of the coast.
