Wildcat Creek is a local gem.
Relatively shallow water, sandy beaches and sandbars, as well as dense forest provide the backdrop for a beautiful day out enjoying Indiana nature.
I have been coming here since 2018 or so, and I love spending time collecting rocks, looking at plants, playing with the toads, and swimming with friends.
A must see for anyone wanting a day out on some water.
The photo is from 2020 or so.

A small area for shallow water wading, but be careful for fast currents! Not ideal for running or hiking. Best for a relaxing time in the mud pits of the river or the shallow water. Offers a peaceful area and nice views of the local nature!

Love going here! The restrooms and beach are almost always free of trash and clean. With DNR managing the park now, not privately owned or managed anymore, I've heard many people say they've heard people have been getting fined up to $250 for swimming; after speaking with two DNR officers this is simply not true. They'd said the only fines they've passed out are for people trashing the area, destroying/defacing property, alcohol and drugs. Both officers said they want people to still go and have a good fun time, while being safe at the same time! Which I would hope that's the goal of everyone visiting!
I would definitely encourage everyone to visit and enjoy the park! You really can't beat free fun!!!

Oooh this Beautiful Awesome Park with a Beautiful River! 😍I love Wildcat Creek very much and the stones and shells are gorgeous underwater! 😉Except the rule of NO SWIMMING!!😳 Total bummer there but it's still fun exploring here.😅 I can't wait to explore this place more!

It is such a beautiful place, the water current is strong, always take care of your children but it is a great place to enjoy.

I’m glad I took a chance on visiting Wildcat Creek Park. This was a somewhat active park with fishing, canoeing, swimming, picnicking and even some kicking around of a soccer ball by those who needed to exert some energy. It was nice to see peacefulness amongst the people.

We went early in the day and there was barely anyone there. Easy to get to. Not too deep for the kids. Nice parking area. Definitely going back!

One of my favorite places to be in the summer especially with my kids (there is a current and so i would recommend that if taking kids they are able to swim and practice caution or have floaties/life jacket or both. I would recommend to be prepared. It's a nature lovers dream and very beautiful. We swim but also like to just go here to relax or skip rocks and enjoy the scenery. This summer we are hoping to get the kayaks out there. It's absolutely beautiful!

Nice park for putting in tubes or kayaks. Swimming isn’t allowed but I’ve heard the water can be extremely treacherous and dangerous

Good place to wade or play in the water, tube, etc. Dog friendly. A little limited on parking. They have restrooms but they are basically compost toilets in a small shelter

Nice for waterfront photos or just a walk in nature. Almost all non-paved.

I just love the outdoors and this is a good chance for people who don't have the means to live in these places to experience Nature. People drown here every so often and I wouldn't know where to even begin to handle that SO I MAKE SURE IM SAFE AND MY KIDS ARE AS WELL! Please be extra vigilant with you and your loved ones safety so, first off not one more family member is lost and second, that we have this spot of generations long after ours is gone to Enjoy! 😉 Be Good Family! Protect lives and preserve our parks, practice safety!

We enjoy kayaking this creek but I want to warn people to avoid the downed trees. The current/rapids sometime pull you into these obstacles. You usually end up in the water when this happens so be careful

Awesome and peaceful, most of the time. Although, everyone entering the water from a crawling baby to the oldest elders needs to know to respect the water. This water moves on the fast side, do not be afraid of it. Learn it, along with learning your own tolerance and abilities. Moving water is very deceiving, there is only one way to true know, go get ur feet wet and go from there. ALWAYS HAVE FUN, JUST BE SAFE DOING IT...
