I had the chance to try food from a different culture and it was outstanding. The service was also great and the restaurant is kid-friendly. Personally, I loved that we got to pour coke from the can into an ice-filled glass. My family and I ordered way more food than we could eat in one sitting, but the price was definitely reasonable. Will definitely be back again whenever I get the chance to come back up to Lafayette.

This Almadina is one of Lafayettes best restaurants. The food prepared here is fresh and very very flavorful. I ordered the chicken shawarma which was excellent and it came with two condiments to put on top. I also order the Turkish coffee and the baklava which were both very good and are made there fresh. The service is very good as well and they are very accommodating to customers. My only drawback is the prices. They are fairly expensive so if you want to eat somewhere for 2 for less than 40 bucks this might not be the place. But with the prices the food is very much worth it especially since they give you generous portions. In all I definitely recommend coming here especially if your looking for some really good Mediterranean food. Just expected to pay quite a bit.

Clean, fast, and delicious. All three things you want from a restaurant. We had lentil soup, lamb kabsal, egg mutabak, beef shawarma platter, absolutely amazing. Spices on point, you don’t need condiments because it’s so flavorful.

This is a great restaurant! The prep time was longer than I anticipated but well worth the wait! Highly recommend the chicken shawarma sandwich! The Zaatar pie was also delicious! Will definitely visit again!

I had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant! The flavors of the food were absolutely delicious, and the service provided by the kind and welcoming staff was outstanding. The Mandi dish was an absolute standout, with its delectable flavors and perfectly grilled chicken. It's truly exciting to finally have a spacious Mediterranean restaurant in West Lafayette that offers such mouthwatering dishes.

We were driving from Chicago to the smoky mountains and this place was a 12 minute detour from the highway.

We fell in loooove with the shawarmas. Chicken and falafel are both delicious. Met the chef who is such a humble person.

100% recommend this place.
Great service and good ambience

Kudos to chef Malek and the team

If you’re thinking of eating here don’t think twice! It is amazing!! Almadina is a amazing restaurant and the food is so delicious. I got the full chicken shawarma and my husband got the full beef. We also got a cheese pie, and a zaatar pie. My son got the chicken nuggets with fries. Both of the full shawarma platters came with a great amount of food, about 1/4th of it filled me up and half filled up my husband. Both of the pies were delicious, my son loved the cheese pie and the zaatar pie was out of this world, it was unbelievably delicious and it wasn’t like anything I’ve ever tried. My son tore up the chicken nuggets of course! I did think that the price of the kids meal was expensive but it came with 10 chicken nuggets and a pile of fries so it was well worth it. The food the atmosphere, everything was so amazing.

So I'm used to get my dinner at some of the restaurants in the area and used to pass by this place on Sagamore thinking that I might try it one day..I tried it today and OMG! I should have tried it sooner! The food is AMAZING! So delicious..the meat is at exactly the right amount of tenderness..the spices are so tasty and yet it is not hot..the potion is huge and I barely finished half of the half order that I requested.. the place is so beautiful that I regretted taking this to go and the cashier was very nice..I can not wait to go back and try the other dishes..they do offer breakfast lunch and dinner on the menu..I got also the cheese pie which is so tasty..
This restaurant is Chicago or Dubai grade and yet it is cheap relatively..

We haven't even paid our bill and I already need to post my review. This was one of the best meals my husband and I have ever had in a restaurant, by a wide margin.

We're relocating to the Lafayette area, but both of us spent many years living in and around Dearborn, Michigan in the Detroit metro area. If you know anything about Middle Eastern cuisine, you know that one of the best places for it in the US is in and around Dearborn.

Almadina could not only hold its own against any of the Middle Eastern restaurants across metro Detroit, I imagine it would sweep the MetroTimes awards in a landslide.

Every bite was incredible. I am not generally a fan of Falafel or of Lentil soup (husband loves both)...I couldn't stop eating either. I'm glad there are takeout boxes for my leftovers, or they'd have had to take me out of here with a crane!

Almadina is still new (as of Nov 2019), that's the ONLY reason it doesn't have hundreds of 5 star reviews.

Upon being seated, our drink orders arrived quickly and we soon had a dish of toum (garlic paste/butter) and sesame breads set before us. The toum is as light and fluffy as you could wish for, and it pairs perfectly with the classic hummus if you're so inclined. We also ordered a half order of Falafel and a small fattoush salad.

Our main courses were the Shish Tawook Classic entree and the Shish Tawook Sandwich. The entree came with rice and a side of veggies, plus we both had a cup of Lentil soup.

All portions we're extremely generous. For under $50 we had soft drinks, bread, two appetizers, a dinner salad, soups, and a complete meal for two, with enough left overs to make up another full serving of everything for another lunch or dinner. How often do you bring home your leftover side veggies and FULLY INTEND to eat every last bite of them?

I guarantee, we will all but lick our takeout containers clean.

I mentioned above that I am not generally a big fan of Lentil soup or of Falafel. In both cases, it is primarily an issue of texture...I can't get past it. That was not true here...the flavor of both was SO GOOD that I was able to completely disregard my usual texture issues and deeply enjoy both dishes. My husband is grieving my soup leftovers that he won't get to have!

As a matter of personal preference, I suggest asking them to add pickled turnips to the Shish Tawook sandwich. I mince them up a bit and spread them through the pita with some additional toum...divine!

Almadina is so new that, like any new business, it needs to attract a lot of positive attention to succeed. I hope folks will give them a chance...an incredible dining experience at a very reasonable price point is waiting for the Lafayette area here.

The front-of-house staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful...and it is abundantly clear that the kitchen staff knows their way around food! I don't know who is responsible for their recipes, but they are making award-winning food here, and I don't think I've had that thought about a dining experience more than two or three times in my life.

My husband and I enjoy finding a handful of local restaurants that we become regulars at... we've done this in every one of the (many) cities we have lived in over the last 20+ years. Almadina is the first of these for us in Lafayette...I expect they'll be seeing us at least weekly. We can't wait to explore more of their menu!

Check them out. You will not be disappointed!

The best food I’ve ever had in this area. The shawarma is very testy, large with reasonable price. The mixed grill is amazing especially with the rice, fatoosh salad, and the small pita bread. I highly recommended this restaurant.

This is an old Red lobster that has been completely transformed. Beautiful decor with rustic wood, stained glass Persian lamps, & what looked to be hand woven tribal rugs on the walls. Extremely tasteful, rich decor. The food likewise is authentic and delicious. Price is right. Extremely attentive, kind, polite, cheerful staff.

Stop whatever you're doing and go to Almadina right now. Nothing you're doing at this moment can be better than going to Almadina. No exaggeration, this is the best Mediterranean food I've ever had.

My wife and I tried them a bit after the dinner rush on a Saturday night and we were one of only a few people there. We were seated immediately and had our drink orders taken so we could look at their focused, but diverse menu. We ultimately settled on a chicken shawarma platter and the shish tawook, but everything looked good.

It took a while for our food to come out, but it was obviously made fresh and totally worth the wait. Our waitress made sure we were never without refills and she even stopped by to let us know that our food was taking a little longer than expected, but not to worry. She was great.

The food is incredible. The shawarma's blend of spices is so flavorful and aromatic that it reminds you why wars were fought over spices. It was warm and heady and intense without being overpowering. The meat was so tender that you wouldn't need teeth to get through the meal. You would need a big stomach, though, because the portion size for the full platter is huge. My wife and I shared it and still brought home leftovers.

The shish tawook might be the finest grilled chicken I've ever eaten. The char from the grill danced right up to the line of burnt without crossing it, and it added a new dimension of flavor to an already flavorful chicken. The rice served with both dishes was cooked to perfection. It's easy to overlook rice or to neglect it as just a side dish, but they cook their rice well at Almadina. The texture is perfect, and the slight moisture it adds balances the chicken which, while not dry, was not juicy either.

The Turkish coffee is no joke. I had a cup after dinner and was like a long hug from a good friend -- warm and comforting. The slight notes of spice in the coffee were a subtle treat in each sip.

The decor is fine. The building looks like it used to be a seafood restaurant, but the interior has been tastefully updated with items to evoke the Mediterranean. It was clean, and they were serious about cleaning, too. No dust would dare to settle on anything in there. Our wooden tabletop gleamed under the light. Another employee was vacuuming the already spotless carpet when we walked in.

Pricing is quite reasonable, especially for the high quality and generous portions. Two entrees, a soda, and coffee ran about $40.

Eat at Almadina and you'll have a great meal. Then tell your friends. Lafayette needs this restaurant to be around a long time.

I came here back in 2019 or 2020 and was instantly OBSESSED. Then they closed due to the pandemic, and I was constantly checking Google to see if they would open again. Alas, they re-opened! Went there with my husband the day after we found out, and the food and service are just as amazing as before! I love this place and will be yelling it from the rooftops!

I'm glad we happened to see this place and stop in. The food was great, the portions were filling, and the atmosphere was cozy. I especially liked the falafel appetizer we got, but the whole meal was great. I'll definitely be back.
