It’s far from stone town. So I recommend doing the activities that are more sea related while there. The staff is amazing they basically become your friends. Felt berry welcome.

From the first moment we descended from the car that picked us up from the airport, we were like mesmerized to see the beautiful, heavenly surroundings, with lush gardens situated at height which provide a beautiful panorama to the ocean and the infinity pool. There are 2 infinity looks: one at restaurant and the other down where there are also sunbeds. The welcoming was really warm, we fell in love with the personal of this hotel. Their smiles made our stay even more beautiful. I would like to send my greetings to Nassi, a superior waiter that really made us feel special with every dinner and lunch prepared with great care. The dishes were amazing, they have a really skilled chef there. We ordered a la carte, the buffet food wasn’t so amazing. We never felt so special anywhere. Also there was Tiva, a nice waiter girl, very helpful and kind. All the waiters and the whole personal were great, but we interacted more with the reminded above. Maybe the hotel would need some improving regarding the bathrooms and some little things outside, at the restaurant, but we really enjoyed every single day, even in the morning when the monkeys were there to steal fruits, they made nice show. Thank you from the heart, beautiful people! You made our vacation perfect!

The resort is huge! 🏝Its beautiful beaches are absolutely beautiful. 🏝🏝
It has:
a swimming pool ✅
an outdoor gym ✅
a boutique ✅
a spa ✅
2x bars ✅
Dining area ✅
Smoking and non-smoking area ✅

The restaurant is basically a buffet with a variety of dishes (Swedish table/self-service)
The food was great, but the menu was similar every day with the exception on Wednesdays (Zanzibar Night) and Saturdays (African Night). I've tasted the local food and it was absolutely delicious.

The staff at the hotel are very talkative and friendly. Most of them speak several languages. They should work on their customer service skills. (" Hi! How are you? " everyday doesn't make tips) They are really trying hard to make you feel welcome.
The prices are a bit higher for their level of service, so I'd recommand booking an all-inclusive service to make your money worth. The tours around Zanzibar were great. Give it a go! The hotel staff provides that too.
You should be aware of local people on the beach. They are self-proclaimed sellers and tour guides. They tend to be a bit annoying with their "amazing" offers and "discounts". They can't be in a resort and will only bother you near the coast.

The hotel includes the guards from the local tribe, the Masai people. (Doctors, healers, bodyguards, guru, etc.)

The staff may organize all kinds of activities ranging from playing traditional games or karaoke to a romantic candle dinner on the beach or snorkeling. You'd have to pay for additional services of course.
All in all, a fine experience.

We stayed at this hotel back in 2019 when it was called Ras Michamvi. We couldn't reach them to make a booking this year 2021 and then we read all the bad reviews below! We decided to make a day trip last week to see if things had really gone downhill.

We found that the Pearl Beach Resort is actually even in better shape than in 2019. Beautifully decorated in the restaurant and the pool still seems to be in good repair. We didn't stay in the rooms, since we just came for the day, but the food in the restaurant was wonderful.

The best thing about this hotel is it's amazing location and the gorgeous view from the top of the rocky cliff. It is so much more quiet and deserted compared to the beaches further south.

We see people complaining about the destroyed beach below. But we advise visitors to come with water shoes and their own snorkling gear. You will then see what an amazing gem this place is! Yes, the one beach below the pool is very rocky at low tide. but if you walk out into the water at low tide, you can very quickly start snorkling around quite stunning coral rocks and you will see many different tropical fish. Just watch out! there are many lionfish hiding under the rocks. And it's true, you have to keep swimming south to find each new coral outcropping, but you can find them and not pay any extra and even be swimming in beautiful clear water at lower tides, just away from the beach. Please just be a good swimmer if you do this.

If you don't have snorkling gear, there is still the other beach in a sandy cove on the other side of the resort. There is plenty of sand and a gentle grade, so that even little kids and build sand castles and swim in gentler waves on this side at the higher tides. Yes, still bring your water shoes -- that's just Zanzibar for you!

We still really recommend this incredible location. We're not sure about the pricing and maybe they are charging more than people were happy to pay. but if you can get a good resident rate it's totallly worth it!
