Albatross Ocean View Hotel

Making a vacation at Albatross Ocean View Hotel in Zanzibar was the best plan my boyfriend and I made. The location of the hotel makes the beauty of catching the sunrise absolutely breathtaking.
The friendly staff were always so kind and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We had booked three days and we added five more because it was such a good stay. They also made us a beautiful, romantic set-up at the beach (it was such a beautiful surprise) at the beach .The manager was so friendly too. We were sad to finally leave after our stay but we will definitely come back, hopefully sooner!

Great place for quiet vacation. Good quality for reasonable price. Nice dinners served. Strong WIFI. Boats to the blue lagoon available just aside

This place is totally out of category when it comes to location, atmosphere, staff, food, service etc etc etc or in other words, for me it has been one of the biggest experience ever visiting Albatros Ocean View, my god !!!!! No it isn`t the most luxurious hotels on the planet but who cares and if you would like to stay where the party goes on 23/7, you will have to look somewhere els for sure, but to the price and if you are looking for extremely kind and helpful service in calm, quiet and cozy surroundings, i doubt you will find a better place to stay, no sorry I am sure. Maybe course it is a relativ small hotel but as I felt it, our chemistry ( owner, staff and I ) worked for the moment i got the key to " my " room, allmost like one big family and that`s counts and I am more than sure that I am not the only one who had or will have that feeling if you decide to stay at AOV. Only 10 days since I left and my god I miss room number 208 and " my family ", just have to go there again and you are an idiot if you don`t ( go there ). You wrote to me in danish in the sand when you served dinner on the beach: we elsker dig ( we love you ), I can only say that I have exactly the same feeling for all of you. Sante and Akuna matata. Beautiful place just few seconds to the beachfront, delicious food, conducive atmosphere ,well situated rooms, so many excursions activities nearby like surfing, snorkelling..The manager Mr. Samson together with his team ensures clients get their holiday comforts and satisfaction

We stayed at Albatross Ocean View for 10 days and we had an amazing experience. The hotel is beautiful, the room was great with spectacular views, the pool and the beach were awesome, the food at the restaurant is delicious, and the staff is absolutely amazing! We had full board and it was definitely worth it; the food, as I said, is delicious, with pretty much everything being homemade, including the bread, the jams, the sweet pastries, etc. The staff was super attentive, friendly and helpful; they even made us some donuts to go for our super early flight and also prepared a very nice surprise for our last night! The cleaning staff was great, as our room was cleaned daily and it felt super clean all the time. I could spend a long time praising everything we liked in this hotel, but I can say that all in all, it was absolutely perfect for us, and we definitely recommend this hotel if you visit Zanzibar!! Thank you very much for making our stay so memorable!!

We just spent five nights at the Ocean View. The location at Dongwe is perfect if you are after peace and serenity. Go to Paje if you want more action and kite surfing. The staff are attentive and we'll trained. The food is good. It is priced similarly to the hotels and restaurants in the area. We found the restaurants in Paje town to be much more reasonably priced, but we we accepted that we were on the beach in Dongwe and the prices werethe norm for the area. The room was spacious and comfortable. Only four stars for the room because the mattress was lumpy. The hotel is situated right where you can organise snorkelling tours and that was one of the highlights. The beach has white sand that goes on forever. The pool is pristine. We loved our stay. Thank you to Moses, Benjamin and Sauda in the restaurant. You really looked after us!

When it's buffet night, make sure to be early. The food tents to get a bit cold

It is the most beautiful place I stayed at in Zanzibar. The beach is the best and the sea view from the rooms just amazing. My whole life I haven’t stayed in a place with such a nice balcony view. I also loved the restaurant. At breakfast you get your choice of eggs - very yummy and better than any place we could find in the village. The pool is just stunning with the palm tree setting and sea view, it is cleaned daily and the water is very warm. The staff is very professional and kind. The WiFi is outstanding, the only place in Tanzania where the WiFi actually worked. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful seafront hotel. If you want to feel your self in private and cozy atmosphere you must to visit this place. We spend amazing holidays there. Rooms are very big, decorations in high local level of culture. Green and clean territory.

Me and my husband spend in this hotel 12 night and we differently will come back. Everything was perfect, staff very friendly, managers Samson, Fank and Yana assist us from arrival. Rooms big and cozy. View from our balcony was amazing. Food in restaurant delicious. Around many beautiful places. We love this place Thank you so much for our Hospitality.

Stunning hotel facing over a beautiful beach. The staff were fantastic and went above and beyond during our stay. There is a tailor at the hotel who makes customised clothes for guests.The food is basic but delicious (very little dairy involved). The rooms are clean and have ridiculously good views of the sea, and all excursions planned through the hotel were great value for money! Would definitely recommend.

JAMBO! :) Dongwe Ocean View absolutely exceeded all my expectations. The reception at the hotel was so warm and welcoming everyday we were there. The food was so delicious making my taste buds explode with flavour. Waking up to the white beach and clear blue waters was a dream, conversing with the Maasai was such a pleasure knowing that we had such warriors as security, made me feel very protected. The friendly staff, scenery, peace & quiet the hotel offers was the highlight.

Its a cool small hide away with calming environment. Within the eastern coastline the smooth wind is amazing and people are funny and cool. I recommend this place for a more chill and grilled couple vacation.

Great location, really good food, rooms are clean and all facing the ocean. The pool is quite big and place directly next to the beach. Hotel is not too big, really perfect getaway place.

The service is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms inside is beautiful and you feel welcome. We are staying on the ground floor, the middle unit. Close to pool, sea and restaurant.

I'm writing a detailed review of Dongwe Ocean View Hotel in Zanzibar while relaxing by the beach on my last day of a fabulous trip. We've spent here almost 9 days and everything has been amazing! I've been to various islands in Asia, Caribbean, Central America and USA but I've never experienced such a magical island. Zanzibar is MAGIC! It has the most beautiful beaches and incredible nature. There is so much to do in the island from relaxing and tanning in front of the beach, snorkelling, finding different colored starfish, island hoping, eating fresh fruit with mango and watermelon in different sand bars, giant turtle visit, scuba diving, surfing, kite surfing, meeting the locals and even learning Swahili. Everyone at the hotel is just fantastic. They make you feel at home and make sure you have the best vacation ever. The owners are Italians so the food is AMAZING!!!! The MOST beautiful experience for my boyfriend and I was meeting Pino Daniele (Msanif Juma on Facebook). He was our tour guide for the entire vacation! He is a wonderful human being with a big heart that will make you experience the island in such a unique and priceless way. He took us island hoping, told us the history of Zanzibar and Tanzania, showed us the culture and the locals (we even had time to interact with the local kids ), took us to a small island to have the most delicious seafood lunch ever and above all we became friends. The people from Zanzibar are the MOST loving, heart caring, positive, charismatic and free-spirit people I've met in my life! I recommend the island, the hotel and Pino Daniele (Msanif Juma) to have a once in a lifetime fabulous vacation experience!!!!!

My wife and I spent just a couple of nights in this 4 stars hotel and, overall, had a wonderful stay in this lovely beachfront resort. The breakfast was included and sufficed our needs. We shall return someday...
