Lilac Café

This is a great little spot! The decor and art are very charming and the staff are friendly and helpful.

We had a French press and a cappuccino and both were great. They use locally sourced coffee beans and provisions. There is a nice food menu if you are hungry.

The indoor and outdoor seating areas are comfortable and the entryway courtyard is especially lovely with lush plants framing the area. The restrooms are also clean and well tended.

If you want a nice place to relax and have a cup, this is a great option!

This café in Katatu stands out. You can get cappuccino, french pressed coffee, cakes and also buy souvenirs such as honey, chocolates and other handmade items.
They also offer food, either to eat at the café or to take away.
If you want something stronger you can also get whiskey or other spirits.
The staff was very friendly.
What some tourists might appreciate the most is that the toilets were very clean.

Great service. Food was good. I believe water can be served by the bottle since am paying 2000 for it instead it was served on a glass which i could not drink. Perherps you may be eco friendly but if the water is truly safe must be served at my table.

Good Customer Service, arguably the best you will get in any Cafe/Restaurant in Karatu town. Atmosphere is cozy and soothing. Good Food & Coffee. Very relaxing.

Lilac café was quite a surprise in Karatu. Staff is really nice, and the atmosphere is great. We had a delicious local meal at a very reasonable price. The café receives a mix of locals and tourists, Wich is pretty nice. I would recommend if you are in Karatu.

The place you need after weeks of travel to remote areas all around africa. I’ve come back from 15 days Moto trip and was exited to sit at comfy sofa, at European design and service around. Food was amazing. Eat there a burger, pizza and sandwich. Burger and sandwich was 5*. Prices totally affordable and worth it.

This has been such an amazing staff while I visited Karatu. They are so welcoming and family friendly and they really take care of our team. Amazing food. Thank you Kevin and Gudilla...we love you all!
