Hotel on the Rock Zanzibar

Hotel with a few bungalows located on the beach with little alleys surrounded by blooming flowers and trees. Very private, quiet and far from the touristic beach part of Paje so you have the whole beach for yourself. The bungalows are cozy and clean, the staff is friendly, the food is fresh and tasty.
Next to the hotel it’s a very good restaurant on the beach called Abdi’s place which I strongly recommend (we returned twice).
I recommend this beautiful and peaceful hotel, just perfect to relax.

Extremely beautiful place. The rooms are gorgeous, especially the bathrooms. The swimming pool is particularly stunning. My friends and I booked 2 rooms for 4 and we spent one night there. The owner is very kind and the staff is super helpful and welcoming too ♥

We are a kitesurf family who stayed at the hotel for a week. The bungalows were very pretty and clean. The garden is really pretty and there is almost everywhere an ocean view. The pool is also very pretty and close to the ocean. We had delicious food and the cooks did their absolute best to please us. They even cooked a big tuna we caught during deep sea fishing. The staff was very kind (Especially Mood who gave us very good advice for cool live music bars and nightlife). Overal nice stay! The only thing that you should take into consideration if you want to kitesurf, you need to walk 5-10 min when the tide is low because of rocks in front of the hotel. Swimming is also difficult. But during high tide it is really nice to kitesurf!

This hotel is a little piece of paradise right by the beach. The flowers and palm trees adds to the amazing atmosphere.
The owners are really lovely and helpful, and the staff is just as great.
I really like the restaurant menu (ask to get the chips extra crispy ;-)
To mention one drawback I do wish there was a stable WiFi-coverage all over the hotel, not just in the bar.
All in all an amazing place. I hope to return to this cozy little Eden on Earth!

Wonderful place on the beach. It’s very tranquil (unlike many places in Paje). The rooms are cute and nice - good value for money. Areas for improvement: healthier breakfast options and vegan options are missing.

Clean rooms. Nice outdoor areas. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Fair prices.

We stayed here for three days and three nights in August. We arranged for a hotel shuttle pickup from the airport. The cost was $90 and that includes a return trip to the airport as well.

Our driver was Mr. Smile. He was very friendly and courteous and knowledgeable. He would drive and accompany us for our booked activities and tours for the rest of our stay there.

My complaints are: public toilet by the restaurant is not the best. Some of the sauces (thankfully served on the side) for their dishes are absolutely gross. Thankfully the dishes were fantastic even without them.

We loved this place and so did our friends. I would come back in a heart beat.

Located on a beach on the hill away from the noice. Amazing place for a relaxing and secluded stay. Nice garden territory, beautiful view from the room through panoramic windows, friendly stuff.

About 20 minutes by beach to more entertainment Paje.

Hotel in the Rock rocks. We have been here for the second time now and it will be not the last time that's for sure. They renovated the bathrooms, opened a restaurant with an amazing view over the sea and the white sandy beach that feels like flour under your feed. If you want to feel the real Zanzibar vibe, away from mass tourism and relax this is the place to be. It's the last hotel at the end of Paje that makes it even more special. Not crowded. It's peaceful and stunning. We are kiters as well. So we unpack our gear in the morning and go kiting just outside our bungalow. Woooow!! Paradise with 25 degrees water temperature all day and night. The owner is super friendly and all the staff are very helpful. See you next time. We loved it and will never forget this amazing hospitality.

This place was amazing. 3 nights of fantastic food, views and atmosphere. The staff (especially Mwisha and Bobo) were amazing. We learned some Swahili and had such a great time in their company. This hotel is slightly south of Paje itself which suited us as it meant the beach was pretty much private, with very few beach boys etc. We would love to come back.

Perfect location, front of beach. Rooms are big, so good with Kids. Restaurant offers fresh and tasty food. Everybody make us feel like home. Big big thanks To all staff and owner👌for sure Will Come back!

Being here feels like being with family. Shebby and Lisa are fantastic hosts. We had great nights sitting in the restaurant, drinking a bottle of wine and enjoying fabulous food.
The special flair about this place is also that it's situated not right in Paje instead a little walk which gives you so much privacy if you need it.
Sitting on the veranda in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee and having the most beautiful view on planet earth stuns you for the rest of your life, at least it happend to us.
As kite surfers we also love this place since you are right to the best kite spot of Paje and away from all the big crowd of kiters.
You also feel super secure and safe because the whole staff is really taking care of you about any needs.

Hotel with individual bungalow, good king size bed, big shower, AC, and balcony.
Very kindly staff, absolutely safe and not deep ocean.
It's very good choice for not expensive accomodations.
