Demani Lodge, Bar & Restaurant

After having the best stay, decided to come back 1 year later and stay at Demani again. The reason is very affordable price while offering the most relaxing environment around the pool and delicious food. Staff is super friendly and kind and makes you feel like a family. Few minutes walk from the beach and 15 minutes walk from Paje center where there are many restaurants, shops and clubs.

Definetly recommending this place,stayed there for 7 nights. Very quiet,relaxing,amazing food,and just few minutes from the beach and we also walked to Paje center. Near buy are supermarkets, restourants, and many clubs at the beach. Especially loved to chill by the pool and the whole place is super relaxing. Rooms are cleaned and definetly value for money. We were really surprised that food for eating and drinking there for 7 days cosed less than 85$ per person. Amazing!

We went there for the Thursday night party.
We didn't regret it at all. The Dj was amazing. No reason to sit if it is not to recover a bit of energy before going back to the dancefloor.
The service is efficient. The ambience is lovely.

Super friendly staff and chilled vibes. Food is good and we just loved the pool! I can highly recommend Demani Lodge for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

The hotel is 4 min walk to the beach (it’s really really close and not an inconvenient at all)

As soon as you walked into the beach you see many cafes and restaurants amd lots of people kitesurfing. There must have been 300+ kites out each day.

The hotel is also close to Jozani National Forest where you can see the endemic Red Colobus monkeys and the mangroves.

The hotel is equipped with an amazing outdoor swimming pool, where almost all the guests hang out during the day.

The restaurant and food is great and fresh.

This place gets my definite yes.

Dear people of Demani Lodge and all people searching for a very good place to stay around Paje. Last time we were at Demani was in 2016. Then we had a wonderful time. Therefore we decided to go back and noticed that Demani did not change too much, except for the good. The very relaxed atmosphere we enjoyed so much was still there. The people serving extremely friendly and always busy making our stay at Demani good.

For those who do not know Demani: it is a very nice place to stay. Nice and very clean beach houses, not luxurious but with everything you need(hot private shower, good matrasses on the beds etc). This all situated in a ‘beach garden’ which offers both shade and places in the sun, together with a very nice pool. And the beach is only a 5 minutes walk away. We liked the food there also very much, but enough close alternatives if you prefer.

Our favourite accomodation in Zanzibar. We stayed at two other properties during the trip but Demani Lodge was fantastic. Our room was spacious, clean and very quiet. We loved the pool, it was perfect as the Hotel is not located on the beach. That is maybe the only weakness of this place, but the beach is just a few minutes from the Hotel. We liked the area as well as there are a lot of bars and restaurants around.
Breakfast was great, crepes are delicious and the food selection too. We could enjoy local food and we loved it. Staff is friendly and we really liked the vibe of this place, good reggae and chillout music!
We just had a unlucky experience with their taxi driver that left us with a bad feeling at the end of the stay.
Despite of this, our experience at Demani was extremely positive. Totally recommend this place!

A great place to stay near Paje. The rooms are basic but always very clean and the public spaces are very cosy to chill in. The food they serve is just delicious ! A big thanks also to the whole staff who was always very helpful and super friendly !

Excellent value for money. A nice lodge with great staff, a nice bar and plenty of common areas. The food is also great and you can have it resting near the pool. 4 minutes walking to the beach.

We stayed at one of their appartments and it really stood out very positively! Nice handmade furniture, all working appliances, very good condition of the house and a very caring owner who responded (the very few minor comments we had) very fast and efficient. It's really extraordinary considering local culture where things often take a long time to get fixed. The owner definitely knows how to do good business and host guests and we got very good value for money. The staff (cleaning, pool maintenance, etc) always showed up on time, which is also sadly not the norm in many places here. I can thoroughly recommend the Demani Appartments.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Demani lodge. A stunning oasis of trees with huts set on beach sand with a sunning pool. Chilled vibe, delicious and filling breakfast and friendly staff. Its literally a 2 min walk to the beach. Note there is a Thursday night party which is pretty loud.

Great place to stay. Food is good but can take at least an hour to be served so order in advance and grab a drink or have a swim in the pool. They take card with a 4% charge and you can pay in dollars or shillings. Don't order taxi's from the lodge, find a driver in town that you can call when needed for half the price. Great party on Thursday nights with a live African band and then a dj and an all you can eat delicious barbecue.

We went there for a Thursday night BBQ and the afrobeats & reggaeton party afterwards and decided to stay there for the night. It was a nice night, ample and well designed place, chill vibes, fun people.
The party with live music and the fireshow made it memorable; however, I wouldn't probably want to stay there for longer period of time than one night because it's a little bit in-the-middle-of-nowhere.
But the Thursday party is highly recommended! Lots of people and one of the best parties I had on Zanzibar, all the way up until 4AM :)

Demani Lodge is such a gem of a place, I had a fantastic stay and highly recommended it! Super chilled out vibe, friendly and helpful staff, good food and Thursday nights are a really fun night there too. Will definitely stay here again when I return!

Not on the water and a little walk to the beach, but incredibly peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

Stayed here for a few days. Staff is friendly and speak English. Accomadation is clean and has mosquito nets. Pool, bar and chill area are awesome. Food is delicious (dinner roughly 20.000 pp) Walk to the beach takes a few minutes, because the nearest beach access has only rocks

What a great experience it was to stay at Demani Lodge! The staff is super sweet and helpful, rooms were simple yet perfectly clean and comfy, good water preasure in the showers, the food is delicious and authentic! I recommend signing up for the thursday night bbq party, so worth it! We loved it there!
