Daxueshan National Forest Recreation Area

Very very nice National forest park in central Taiwan. Also it’s your best choice to stay one night in wooden house to experience the mountains paradise.

It's beautiful and very dense forest. Deer, Bears and forest monkey are easily visible there. It is cold place even during summer also. So please carry warm jacket when visited this site. For the Taichung resident, ticket price is only 100 NTD.

A great place for mountaineering. There are plenty of trails to hike and peaks to climb. You may need shuttle services or drive on your own as transporting between where you stay and the trailheads.

I should describe this place as wonderful. Been there in early September, when it was so hot and humid in Taipei. whereas this place was so chilling at noon. If you are planning to stay longer at the top, consider taking a jacket. Please try to go to the top, the road is good, can drive car to the top. There are information centers along the way and there is a facility for drinking water (both hot and cold) and clean toilets. You can also buy some snacks. Lookout for birds and the beautiful mountains.

The second highest mountain on the island where has been protected as natural as possible maintaining its own looks, beautiful landscape you may see up there! You must arrange at least one full day to discover the beauty of the mountain!

"The Great Snow Mountain" national forest park locates in the middle Taiwan. The elevation is over 2000 meter.

There are serval trails, where one can walk inside forests. There are two famous giant "Red Juniper" trees in the forest trails, the small one is estimated over 1000 years old, and the big one is about 1500 years old.

There are a variety of wildlife. I am lucky seeing unique birds including "Imperial Pheasant" and "Blue-bellied Pheasant". Super happy 😃 ❤ 👍!

This place is good for camping and hike . The place is like jungle with the beautiful scenery of nature. Trees are very old which make you feel more attached to nature. Toll fee is 100NTD for and that fee is used to protect and maintain nature naturalized.

Great place for birding and mountain climbing. Majority of the endemic bird species of Taiwan are found here.

Wildlife watching hotspot on Taiwan. Not easy to access using public transport so keep that in mind. The higher elevations are only accessible during the day as the gate closes in the evening. There is one hotel you can stay at, inside, but is very poor value for the money.

Great place for a walk on a sunny day. Tall trees provide an excellent shade and the view is great!

Facilities were pretty good and clean! Hiking trails are maintained in good condition.
