Beautiful small village. The villagers are friendly, even the children. You can booked a homestay so you can watch the sunrise over the beautiful mountains. Gaze the stars at night time. Stroll around the village or take a hike heading to old giant trees. Would love to visit again soon during the sakura blooming season.

You can experience, amaze the nature and at the same hike to the see Taiwan's aboriginal camp site and the giant tree (司馬庫斯神木). For transportation, you can go by chartered bus or private cab (is preferred). Prepare some drinks and snacks after entering the gate, and enjoy the nature's blessings

Beautiful indigenous village with cherry blossoms, bamboo groves and giant trees! Definitely worth visiting, esp during cherry blossom season, but the roads leading to the place are narrow and some not well paved! A long and tough driving journey!

What a marvelous place! It is, indeed, a God’s tribe. In addition to the amazing views, you can feel the fabulous chi to really turn you on once you entered the entrance. Heard about this place for s long time but it’s very hard to book a room inside. Anyway, so glad to finally make the trip reality and enjoyed it very much. Actually, kind of planning my next trip already.

I love all the children in this deep mountain. Intuitively, I am the Atayal people. Tainan came here. Although the road is far away, the mood is surging.
Here, you can watch all Atayal people carefully. Their innocence, simplicity and enthusiasm make you feel that they live in more than two hours away from Neiwan, they are content and happy and united.
Children above the junior high school must leave this hometown where they lived for a long time, go to Zhudong to study, and even go to high schools to other counties and cities. After graduating from university, they will return home to work together to take care of this land.
Every time the car slowly left the park, my sorrow came alive, this is no good, when will I come back? The leisure and romance of travel is that when you set off for your destination, you already have that atmosphere and mood ready, right?

Natural buety. Meaningful experience of aboriginal tribe culture. Slightly challenging trail hike to the giant trees, 11km to fro. Well worth the visit。Am glad we stayed a night instead of a daytrip. Starry cold winter night.

Beautiful remote village high in the mountains. You can see real stars here! Bring your motion sickness meds because the road here is miserable. Camping and cabins. Must book ahead or travel with guides to protect the area. Limited shop will provide essentials but recommend bringing food from home. Don't forget to take your trash with you when you leave! Stop littering.

The Hike to see Giant Cyprus trees was well worth the 4 hour return hike. Track wasn't too hard and scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Would recommend.

Worth the drive and the exploration. Really a gem, as one walks through the various ecosystems to finish up at the giant trees

It's a very remote mountain tribe. The beauties of it can be reserved because it's hard to reach. Spring Water used was clear and nutritious. It has been nurturing the people since the tribe established. You will feel the difference after drinking and showering with the water.

The serene and peaceful vibe attracted me more than hiking around the area. These beautifully built guest house came with balconies which gives you views of morning dance of mountains and clouds. It's beautiful, it's spectacular, it's mesmerizing!

Food service was excellent. However, they are facing with man power shortage , please be patient with them especially during the vacation seasons.

If you visit the area, take a look at the seemed ordinary bushes on the roadsides. Gently touch and smell it. These big bushes are lavender 🪻! The mountains provide a perfect surrounding for the growth of lavender, cool and moist!

Wonderful experience! Love it!

Hardly believe in such remote place could have such good tourism staying environment. We could tell how much effort they have put in place to manage this village. There is a lot of story regarding the village how they share the properties and manage to place together as one family. Admire the whole village people they are full of love and they know how to live with the nature.

It's an absolutely beautiful place. Difficult to get to, especially if driving, but worthwhile. If you're going by a motorcycle (125 cc. is enough, BTW), be sure to tank up to the brim at the foot of the mountain in Jianshi. You might buy an extra liter of fuel for safety. Be careful on the road and leave before noon to get there early. The trail to big trees (巨木) is a long but easy one—10 km total should take you a few hours. Again, it's good to go there before noon. A lot of people enter the trail early in the morning so you may choose to go about 10:00. There's another trail to a waterfall, which is shorter but far more difficult. Might be good to avoid it in rainy weather. I'd recommend 3 days 2 nights, with he last day spent in Cinsbu Village (鎮西堡) on the other side of the valley.

Nicely organized and authentic Tayal tribe, with an easy but natural hiking trail to visit giant trees and cherry blossoms (if you come at the right season). The road to the tribe is quite bumpy, but it is said that the government will fix it. I hope it’s soon!
