A dose of nostalgia with tastes of days past in the form of railway bentos. No pretentiousness or fine dining here, just simple good food served quickly. You can dine in one of the two restored train cars for an extra dose of authenticity!

Make sure to get some of the soup from the self-serve station! It's simple but flavorful.

Despite it having many stores around the island, I think this place, which is the main store, is worth visiting for anyone who comes here. There are many other box meals places around, but at this place you’re able to bring your box meals and go into these old train carts they’ve transformed into a dining area.

Don’t expect to see much history and culture though. The three story building was mostly dining area with few decorative pieces on the history of the box meal. There is also a section on the first floor selling various items made from 池上rice. Overall, I still recommend the place for the experience of dining the the train carts. Plus, the box meals taste pretty good.

we had a blast riding 4 wheeler all over beach and roughed terrine.

The bento itself is nice, not the best but with the decorations of train station. I think it's still a good place to visit if you want to not only try the famous rice, but also experience the atmosphere.

The home of Wutao lunchbox! This place is not only a popular restaurant near to the train station, but also a famous museum of Chishang lunchbox, where one can see the history and development of the brand. Their insistence of making quality lunchbox is really appreciable!
Apart from getting the characteristic lunchbox on the ground floor, one can also buy souvenirs and other agricultural products in the shop. The old kitchen is well preserved upstairs, so one can get to know more about the story of the lunchbox.
Outside there lays two old couches, which now serve as seats for customers. One can order and sit inside to reminisce the good old times of Taiwan. The route is well designed. The place is very recommended to pay a visit when passing by the town.

Fabulous! Food is great, specially the chicken, super crispy without added flour. There is free soup and side dish (spicy radish). They also sell various type of rice. A must visit place

A very nice place telling stories about rice farming in Taitung, east side of Taiwan.

Their rice was really delicious, however the rest was just average.
