Challenging trail in the rain. Beautiful views which I bet are even better without the fog and rain. Look forward to visiting again one day. 19C temperature in Taiwan is a pleasure.

Our hike was not on the map, it’s from main peak to bottom of this trail. We hike down from the main peak, along with cable line on the ground, pass through 合歡溪, finally get to the bottom of this trail head. It took us about 3 hours, absolutely stunning. Not recommend in bad weather or afternoon though, as you can easily get lost and it could be dangerous.

The trail is easily walkable, however it may seem more challenging than usual due the high altitude, which is well above 3000m here. People who tend to have altitude sickness can alleviate their symptoms with the extract of „xiangfengcao” (香蜂草) or similar herbs. It's better to arrive as early as possible, since the weather is quite unstable, so the clear weather may become extremely cloudy or even rainy in a matter of minutes by the afternoon.

A short trail, but don't let that deter you from doing this trail. The views are amazing. I went during November (Fall season, as the leaves are slightly turning brown).
It does get really cold before sunrise so be prepared (about 8 degrees, so bring your layers).
Some of the trail paths have eroded, using trekking shoes or anything with extra grip helps a lot.

Beautiful trail, nice and short. Good for beginners! Make sure to wear your least favourite shoes on a rainy day though, the mud will ruin your shoes.

One of the most convenient and essy trekking way, and it's listed on top 100 mountains.! Parking space just aside but space quite limited.

Taroko gorge was an awesome place to visit, one of my favorite stops in Taiwan. I hiked several of the trails using the bus system which made transport from Hualien easy overall. The buses run every hour which makes it possible to get 2 or 3 hikes done in a single day. The only downside was that all of the hikes were short, at under 5km, except for a few.

This trail was on the mountain pass from Hualien to sun moon lake and definitely worth stopping to hike up. Maybe 1 hour max was needed to do so.

Really fun hike but super tiring given the altitude is high and oxygen levels are low. We chose the more difficult path up with ropes etc to get a gorgeous 360 deg view of the area before climbing down via the stairs way. Definitely worth going up this peak

Very easy trail, but bring suitable hiking footwear as this is not paved and there are loose stones. Fantastic scenery all around.

It takes 20-30mins to go uphill and was relatively easy. Nice view at the top. Can see both main peak and east peak as well as Qilaishan.

Easy trail. Beautiful views. Go to catch the sunrise! Big carpark just where the viewing platform is located.

The easiest peak in the famous Taiwan 100 top mountains. The view is gorgeous especially in sunny days. Most surrounding landscape is low lying arrow bamboo. Pay attention to the fact change weather. Often a warmer sunny morning can quickly dip down to single digit Celsius in the afternoon with chilly strong winds.
