It is another point of the park that must be visited. It is a very beautiful spot. Walk in for about two-three kilometers. This point is a point where you can see the view of the marble cliffs, which are very beautiful. There is also history to read along the way to the source of the trails in this park.

It feels so surreal just looking at the view here! A spot not to be missed! It's certainly amazing how they could construct paths/roads/tunnels under the mountains/boulders!
Walk along the trail and enjoy the stream-line of water flowing through, permeabling on the rocks/boulders, making a calming and wavy sound.
The washrooms here are also very well-maintained and clean!

The best sightseeing in Taiwan so far.
It is marvelous how people could travel on this road with their vehicles a long time ago.
The way they convert the road in a trail for walking is astonishing.

Impressive stop within the Taroko national park. The path was carved through the cliff so the walk is quite fun as you will feel you are in a cave. This trail also offers the best view of the Taroko gorges as the path is perfectly located in a narrow part of the gorge and at a good height.

The old highway was converted to a tourist walk. This walks give you the beautiful mountain and rivers. A place you must visit.

This is undoubtedly the monumental part of Taroko National Park.
Formerly part of the central cross-island road spanned across east and west of the island until this section was replaced with a new tunnel, it has since been transformed to a scenic path that is about 700m from the entrance.
One can not stop to marvel the huge, alternating black and white marble much like an abstract painting on the rock face .
There lies a risk as the fault or tectonic plate is apparently visible. Any adverse earth movement can be catastrophic.
Additionally the amazing scenery of the crystal clear water running along the Liwu stream, a small waterfall that cascades into the stream. The steep stream of water continually erodes the marble walls of the gorge, creating a curved and narrow ravine.
This is truly a grand finale of the whole journey to Taroko National Park, its unique, majestic sight is not to be missed.

Very beautiful natural scenery. This is the narrowest part of the whole taroko gorge. The whole part can only be walked and it takes 25 mins including phototaking to reach the end. There are many informative signs explaining the geography and history of different features of the gorge. It is a must see if you're in the area.

However if you're driving, you can't park outside the entry. It is only for dropping off and picking up passengers.

We decided to drive through the road tunnel highway 8 eastward (towards hualien). The tunnel is about 1.5 km long and a short distance afterwards there is a parking lot on the right (if you're driving eastward. If you're driving westward, the parking lot will be on your left, before entering the road tunnel). The road marker is around the 174 km mark. Then you can walk through the tunnel, it takes about 15 mins at a moderate pace.
Hope this helps others who are driving!

Alternatively you can drive to a nearby Confluence campsite as others suggested in the Google reviews, but it is not walkable (40 mins walking). You can take bus 302 from the campsite. It seems the bus is quite frequent, because we saw it multiple times from our car while driving.

If you're cycling or riding a scooter/motorbike, there are parking lots at the entrance.

Basically a short paved road (once part of the highway used by vehicles in the old days) built on the cliff side overlooking rapids and beautiful marbles on the riverbed, mostly covered by man-made structures protecting visitors from hazards of falling rocks and landslides. Also the best place to see remnants of the Gold Road built by the Japanese during Occupation. Definitely a must-visit for a glimpse of the National Park’s geological characters and historical backgrounds. Parking may be a problem though.

What a great place to visit to see one of the masterpieces of this nature wonder along with amazing road work. The beautiful water, stone, mountain with history of the whole development of the area, it makes great education for everyone. This is the type of the place when you visit in person, you are really in awe!

Must stop at your visit. The waterfalls are amazing. Even saw a monkey. Feel the wind at the end of the trail. The trail is also very safe with a minimum risk of rockfalls.

last time when I visited here was more than twenty years ago. The memory is pretty vague.
This time it left me a strong and life time impression for me that is for sure!
Some of the old paths have been damaged by the earth quakes and strong typhoon. To make the tourists safer, now basically every part of the pathway have been in the tunnel or covered by roofs.
Now people can enjoy the magnificent scenes even more safe.

Would recommend going earlier in the day. We went a little later in the afternoon so some of our views were limited.

Very beautiful. Note if you drive a scooter you can actually park here! I drove my scooter pass this place multiple times to other trails because I didn't know I could park here. You have to go on the sidewalk a little and there will be signs.

This is one of the well-known spots in Taroko National Park, which famous for the canyon cut by Liwu Stream. The trail is flat road about 700 meters, so it is very suitable for all age. You can take a stroll on this beautiful trail here and will surely feel amazed by the remarkable cliffs and stunned by the extraordinary scenery as if done by the spirits of nature. After visiting the trail, don’t forget to check other spots in Taroko out!

Super easy walking path, but the view is so breathtaking. Very windy, would be good to bring along windbreaker.
