Such a beautiful place, never seen anything like this. For us the sunrise was not there on the top but we were able to get a glimpse of it at South Peak.
Please visit in the season where there is no rain forecast.

Also the early morning (5am) stars view was good. Seems there are times when the sky here is spectacular, do reach and come.

Hehuanshan was undoubtedly the highlight of my stay in Taiwan. I visited for the sunrise, and the colors were simply breathtaking—out of this world. As one of Taiwan's highest peaks, the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains were truly awe-inspiring. Accessing the spot is a breeze, requiring only a 20-minute walk, making it exceptionally easy to reach.

This is a good place to visit if you enjoy natural view. Went on mid-December and it was freezing cold (around 7 degree).

Recommend to wear gloves and beanies if you are afraid of cold as we didn’t bring and were freezing cold up the mountains. There are no stall that sell gloves and beanies there.

Worth the time to visit there at least once if you are going to Taiwan. Enjoyed the amazing views and cold air.

Went on weekend so many people there and hard to take photos. Almost no parking there and need to wait for parking almost every spots. So it will be nicer if visit on weekday

I drove to Hehuanshan from Hualien and then drove back on motorcycle. Tough, long drive with lots of steep turns. Don’t recommend if you are not expert in motorcycle driving. Weather can change anytime from sunny to foggy, rainy, windy and it was very cold when you reach the top so make sure you have enough warm clothes especially for gloves. And a good bike of course. The reward is fabulous, beautiful sea of cloud, sparking road or creepy and foggy turns. 😉🥹. One of the most beautiful road I have ever been

The Mountain Road gracefully meanders through the towering peaks, hugging the contours of the landscape with gentle curves and sharp switchbacks. It is a true feat of engineering, artfully carved into the mountainside.
Nestled within the heart of rugged wilderness, the Mountain Road is a winding masterpiece that beckons adventurers and wanderers alike. As you embark on this journey, you'll discover that it's not just a path to your destination; it's an experience that unveils the raw, unbridled beauty of the mountains.

This is one of the highlights of my Taiwan trip. I never expected the scenery to be so beautiful. Truly worth every second of it. Bear in mind that the cold weather and also strong wind when you are up there. Our tour guide drove us all the way up here and we managed to catch the beauty of the sunset.

The fall scenery was great, but it really was freezing cold and the mountain was shrouded in a lot of fog.

The Hehuanshan national park and star park is one of a kind. Simple theory get here by 4-.4.30 am in the morning and you will be blown away by the amount of Astro night views you will see. Rarely have I have been to a place I have seen so many stars at once. If your into Astro photography then this is the place to try. Don’t forget if your coming here in the winter it can go low upto -6 degrees so please cover yourself properly. There are 3 huge peaks the east peak is the easiest climb and it’s a 30mins trek to get there. Please carry water and some food to make sure you don’t stay hungry. The sunrise over the sea of clouds is so great. You can spend hours looking at it. There are more trails and also big challenging ones if you are up for it. Just take a look at a Taiwanese website for details. After that there is a small convenient store where you can pick up coffee. Please be careful in peak winter there is ice and it can get slippery. Road conditions are good but they are pretty narrow so be aware driving. Book hotels at Cingjing farm or re-nai township when coming here. Definitely a place to visit.

Nice view from the top of the mountains! Have a very cold weather, The road also usually very foggy at the morning also there's a snow chains on the road that make it really slippery, so becarefull! From the top of the mountain we able to see every mountain near the he huan shan (合歡山) and that view was awesome! Also we need to hike for a while to here, because vechicle cannot go through this way. Will be back here next time!

Went to in February during the tomb sweeping holiday. If going during holidays, please keep in mind that there are not enough parking spots nearby the peaks, public transportation is not that convenient. We almost missed the sunrise even though we left our hostel around 4:30-5 am. I recommend going directly to the North peak.

Please be noticed that the peak entrances are not very near each other besides the West and North peak.

Amazing view and quite challenging due to the thin air.

Would totally visit again but during weekdays instead as during holiday all touristic spots as overcrowded and almost impossible to find a parking spot. We planned to go to Cijing farm but it was impossible.. If you have to go during the holidays, I recommend just leaving your car nearby the place you are staying and hire a private car service so you enjoy all hehuanshan and its surroundings can offer.

I went here last april for the sunrise and it was amazing, we even able to see the milky way and unidentified object entering the atmosphere.
Beware as its really cold due to strong wind so bring an extra jacket.
Better to stay around qingjing farm so they can pick you up around 4am

Very cold place in Taiwan. My first snow experience. Really love it. Need extra careful when walking in snow because it’s very slippery.

For the first time in my life, to see a snowy mountain..😍😍 it was obviously.. cold.. haha.. but the mountain is so beautiful. I wonder how it looks when it wasn't covered with ice.. i went there by car, and thank God the driver parked the car so far away from the peak. So we have a chance to enjoy the snowy mountain scene on the way up and down.. on foot! It's cold and slippery, but it was AWESOME!! 🤪

Stunning view! We went there for sunrise and the sky was colorful with sea of clouds. During the daytime you can see the shadow of the clouds on the mountain (if you go to the peak). From Qingjing Farm, you can drive all the way up to Hehuanshan upto the peak. However, in winter, due to the road conditions and presence of snow, they are more strict in allowing cars to go up the mountain.

Must go check in. 60km mountain road, not easy for people who dont eat anything, 300m to clim up to the west top of hehuansgab, in return u will get stunning scenery of nature, clouds and mountain hug each other and enjoy the feeling of conquer. The height is 3417 m and my 5.5 year old kids totally can beat.
If u dont want to clim up by stairs u can try another top mountain for eg: the opposite top, u can clim as trekking.
