During our Taiwan trip, we made it a point of tasting douhua wherever we could. The ones offered at Chenggong Douhua were one of the best. The tofu tasted very fresh and smooth in a lightly sweet syrup. We ordered one with red bean and another grass jelly. The latter was very refreshing. We went during a weekday so there was no line. Staff were friendly and efficient. Bonus point: the resident cat was affectionate.

BTW, we were lucky that the shop was open that day. Our driver said that he had been there twice and the shop was closed both times. Apparently they didn't have fixed day off.

Silky bean curd place with good choice of fillings. They are selling the ice shavings version now but will have hot version during winter month. A tad sweet for me but my friends all loved it.

Japanese style building looks elegant and classy. Traditional Douhua with syrup and tasty peanuts was really fantastic❤ Definitely, it is one of the best choices in such a hot weather!!!

I was recommended to try this place by a friend, come to find out this is a famous spot! It was delicious, a wonderful treat to have on a long day of exploring the sights around Taitung!
