An amazing piece of history that also provides the best view (debatable) of the South China Sea as that's how they kept an eye on the trade ships.

You walk up a short hill to the fort and then there are lots of fun stairs to climb. Great view of the city scape and my favorite spot on Cijin. Free entry as well, like all the tourist spots here.

This place is nearby Cijin Lighthouse and getting there is pretty easy. Just follow the directions given on Google Map.
In my perspective, there is really nothing much to see here but you will be able to see a magnificent view of Cijin

Best night view of Qijin and Kaoshiong. Easier access by a well-lit slope from the side, not the main gate of the fort. Quite dark in the fort after sunset, use your flash and mind your steps.

It was an amazing adventure to be on top of the mountain. You can see wonderful view of the ocean and the city itself. Being able to explore the structures feels like going back hundred years ago.

Amazing spot overlooking the South China Sea. We hired and electric bicycle cart that seated about 4 people and rode down to the fort. You have to walk along the old fort itself, which is nicer anyway. The sea is very rough and there are some locations that are off limits because people have been swept away by waves in the past.

An old fort. Easy climb. Just 1 flight of stairs and a gentle slope. About 100m+ away from the old street. Well preserved and good for photos at an altitude overseeing ciqin and Kaohsiung. It was built to protect the harbour before the Japanese invasion in 1895. However the commander fled to Anping when the Japanese warships arrived. The cannons only fired 5 times before the Japanese captured it because of the absence of command.

My wife and I enjoyed this place very much on Nov 26, 2018. It's not a very scenic place but the breeze, cool temperature and the myriads of angular spaces make for good portrait photography. We hired bicycles for ourselves at just NT$100 each for the whole day.

The historical fortress in CiJin to secure the port in 19th century. You can have the bird view here to take a look at everything around the port.
The traditional architecture shows you the tense atmosphere since you can tell how thick, stiff and strong the fortress was before. Though there is no guarding requirement now, you can still find the importance of peak location.
Just come here and see what you learned from historical information. Enjoy it.

I liked the fort and the light house a lot, you have an amazing view out to the beach and ocean and of course over the whole city of kaohsiung. Many good photo locations. You can spend a lot of time here even if you just sit and relax, watch the big boats coming and going... Or enjoy the sunset...

A fantastic fort, the walk up to the top was not too hard and once you are there, it's really good to wander around the walls and explore the fort. Also has fantastic views of the city and the harbour.

Breathtaking! We are able to see Cihou beach from this vantage point, and the old ficus trees are everywhere and provide interesting background for photo taking. Beautiful!

CiHou Fort was previous canon setting location at CiJin to defend the outside invaders. Due to its highland point, It offers a very nice and pretty views of Kaohsiung hart, sea shoreline to Taiwan strait, CiJin beach and rooftop of CiJin peninsula. Very lucky to watch the sunset at five without hindrances.

After the lighthouse, we walked to the canon platform. There’s a tunnel at the end that takes you to a place to see waves crashing on the rocks to make big splashes.

Great place for breathtaking sunsets. It is more interesting than the lighthouse and easier to reach.
