Kaohsiung Martyrs' Shrine

Very beautiful shrine just behind the Shoushan LOVE lookout area. An additional flight of stairs up to this highly accessible area. Very serene and peaceful for a walk at this area. Definitely will come back here

Best place to see the full city top view of the kaoshuing center.
I would really recommend everyone to go in the night to see the amazing lights from skyscrapers and from PIER 2 ART CENTER.
It's REALLY beautiful and an awe9sme place for couples to spend some quality time.
The best part is that you will feel Mother Nature from the top of the stage set up there; you will forget everything, and you will feel like ur soul is not with you.

Beautiful shrine - not a temple! With a gorgeous view next to the building, overlooking the bay of Kaohsiung (and a great live sign).

If you wish to savour the view of the harbour city of Kaohsiung from above, then I warmly recommend going here. I braved the steep hill with my bicycle, climbing all the way up. It is truly a stunning view from here. There is also an elevated platform you can ascend for taking selfies and such. In case you are cycling up, then you can also look forward to a fun fast trip down to the city again afterwards.

A lovely place where you can take a stroll into Taiwan's history while taking in some unique views of Kaohsiung and admiring the nature and its cute inhabitants, the macaques!

The road uphill is a bit tiring for walking... Especially under the hot sun. The view is fabulous though. I should have come up at night also. The shrine is not that much of historical value but its remarkable that it was a Japanese shinto shrine but now is worshiping those who fought against the Japanese invaders in WWII. Good for everyone to have a brief history lesson.

There is a scenic overlook not far away from the martyrs shrine. You can have a bird-eye view of the city and the harbor. It's splendid day and night.

At here, you can have a great view of Kaohsiung even though it is not convenient to get here by public transportation. I would recommend you to get there by taxi or motorcycle. I think it is a good place to see the night view, take a walk, and have some drinks with friends. Hope everyone enjoy it!

The shrine itself is beautiful. Be respective when visiting..do not talk or lough out loud. There is a spot outside of the shrine where you can have nice view of Kaohsiung. Plan half an hour to forty five minutes.

A great Chinese style shrine on top of the Shou mountain, to pay tribut to the fallen heros of the Republic of China. Beautiful vie of the Kaohsiung harbour.
