beautiful, magical place. a very large ancient city. many ancient buildings, arches, columns. many interesting stones with different designs. Overall a very beautiful place with stunning nature and views. The entrance ticket is included in the ticket for the travertines (30 euros); you do not need to pay separately.

Absolutely amazing place to visit. It was quiet in late January, so not too many people about it. Beautiful location and surroundings and a must-see if in the region.

This theater was beautiful. It is still very intact and gives a stunning view of the area. When sitting on the seat, make some clapping noise. The acoustics are amazing!

You can now see why they would be able to give a spectacular show or dramatic play, with everyone in the theater being able to hear it properly!

I couldn't help but admire their architectural prowess at that time. The buildings were bigger and more magnificent than I had imagined. After visiting Pamukkale, remember to take the time to explore this place thoroughly. It will be a completely different experience.

The only redeeming feature of the high entry price for pammukale terraces is access provided to the Hierapolis ruins. The amphitheatre and northern necropolis are both must sees.

As most tourists are just there for the terraces you can often find yourself wandering alone in fields of ruins. Make sure to bring water as the area is large, hot and provides little shade.

Cleopatra pool is beautiful, but too crowded and overpriced considering you can only have one swim for each 7 euro payment.

I stopped here as part of a tour and was pleasantly surprised at how great this site was. Most of the site is ground ruins, so you have to use your imagination, but some columns, arches, and facades still rise. The theater is an incredible spot that shows the mountains in the background. I was only here for 3 hours but could have stayed for 5. The site is well equipped, though the washrooms are pretty spread out, and it was not too busy for a Tuesday in January. (2022)

beautiful place. when you plan to stay in Turkey, you must visit them. The journey is quite long, as by bus with an organized tour the journey takes approx. 5 hours, but this place is amazing.

And absolute must to visit while in Pamakkale, so many incredible Ruins to see. Was so hot , we wish it wasn't so hot and we could have enjoyed more hours here. Make it a point to visit.

great place to visit, a must if you're visiting turkey. It's better to go early, at 6:30 use the east entrance and go directly to pools. If you want to watch the sunset, check the time and synchronize...visit the whole area takes 4 hours

Many visit the famous terraces of Pamukkale next to Hierapolis but don't take time to visit the remains of the once thriving city.
It really is worth walking through this site, especially when at the top of a gentle hill the amphitheatre is revealed.

I enjoyed the Pamukkale spring pools and the beauty of the terraces, but for anyone interested in history and architecture at least an hour or more for walking in Hierapolis should also be included in your visit.

Huge site open for exploration by visitors. Entry ticket combined with access to the Pamukkale travertine terraces and has to be used on the same day. Access to the antique pool is extra and pool is only accessible after entry to the hierapolis-Pamukkale complex. Price for entry recently hiked up to 700 tl per person.

One of my favourite locations while traveling through Turkey 🇹🇷❤ This extremely photogenic ancient Greek/Roman city perched high on a hill is going to blow your mind. This place is huge and you could spend about half a day here.

There's also a public hot spring pool area to enjoy or you can actually get into the natural pools by the travertines.

You can see ancient travertines that flow with hot water from a nearby spring. There's a huge ancient theatre to admire as well. I loved walking around here and trying to imagine what life was like during its peak. An absolute must visit 👍👍

Came here early in the morning with very little crowd. The ruins by themselves were impressive but the majestic snow capped mountains in the backdrop of these city ruins with the floating hot air balloons around the city is so magical. Be sure to visit the hot springs. You are allowed to take your shoes off (make sure you get your pedicure or at least cut your toe nails) roll up your pants as needed and dip your feet.

Put on your walking shoes and snap as many pictures as you can. Sometimes you can find someone dressed up as Spartacus and he will make you take photos with him... be prepared to pay for this service😊

Amazing site!
We went at the end of the day and stayed until sunset, it was not busy at all.

We stayed for 1h45 but would have have stayed all afternoon if we could have arrived earlier.

We walked to the museum, visited each room.
We then had some food at the cleopatra pool, we’re we would have had a swim if we had swimsuits.
After that we walked to the amphitheater, it’s in great condition and it amazing to experience ancient culture like that.
Finally we walked to the water terrasses, sunset was the perfect time to walk in the warm water, deep your fit into the streams. We could have sat in the water there too.

It was great and I would recommend it.

Amazing ancient spa town well worth exploring. Very few tourists once you step back from the entrance and the ravines that are just down below the town.

If you are visiting Pamukkale thermal pool, your ticket includes a visit to Hierapolis and the theatre is well worth the visit.
The architecture is even better restored than the one in Ephesus.
It's a long way to hike up and you need to be fit enough to walk up. But you can hire a buggy to come.

We visited on a group tour and had two and a half hours only, but I would recommend at least half a day if you have time! The ruins are in a very big area, including the martyrdom place of St. Philip. The thermal pools are also fun to wade through, and don't forget to rub on some of the mud sediment and then wash it off!

The best ancient city I've ever seen. Amazing. An absolutely must. Pay the 70 lira for the audio guide, it's well worth it. Be prepared to spend an entire day here

The walk to get there seems a lot. We took a van to go there and it was nice. Not too crowded but we went early in the morning before it got busy.
