Alara Castle

Crazy experience climbing to the castle. A climb through a bet cave, but the view at the end is very nice. Water and good shoes are a must.

Beautiful castle. I recommend take sports shoes. Nice views. Road up is a little harder. Be careful.

Beautiful, however not so easy accessible

A lot of fun to climb to the top. In my opinion the challenge and danger is exaggerated by other reviews. Still, the upper levels are likely not advisable for children or those with reduced mobility.

Wonderful view from the top of the castle. Officially, it is not permitted to go up, but for advanced hikers, it is no problem. Take a headlight with you, because you need to go through a dark and steep tunnel.

Nice "walk", few tall stairs so not for everyone, kids should be supervised at all time. Great view!

The place is just exciting!
Especially if you dare to climb at the top (though it's forbidden cause of danger). The tunnels and the castle on the lonely steep rock reminded me the stories of Tolkien. But be careful! While entering the highest level of fortress you must pass along a tower's wall over a cliff. I managed to do it wearing cycling shoes with cleats and it was a bit scary, but you'd better have more appropriate shoes like tough trainers.
The view is astonishing from the summit, none of photos can express it.
Near the kervan-seray there is an old man with camels. He will try to force you to drink his fruit tea and then will ask you to pay him 'bakshish' (tips). You can just give him 5 lira, because obvious his camels have to eat, even if the owner of them is an old ransom.
I went there by cycle from Alanya, I think it also reachable for an average cyclist from Manavgat, cause the road is almost flat. İf you are experienced one you can even try it from Belek or Gazipasha in one day trip. İf you go from Antalya, you'd better stay for a night in Side or camp right here.

Très beau site pour se promener. Les paysages sont magnifiques. On peut faire une randonnée calme en bas le long de la rivière ou monter au château et c'est un peu plus physique. En haut le panorama est sympa.

Всегда было интересно как строили такие крепости на крутых скалах, и теперь я это знаю, пройдя вдоль реки мимо частного сектора и садов с апельсинами, подойдёте к подножъю горы, там будит тоннель, нужно пройти его по верху, метров 50, вход в плохом состоянии , ну а дальше будит нормальная часть тоннеля проходящего на верх башен, а дальше по синим стрелкам двигайтесь на самый верх, подъем около 400 метров и очень крутой, до первого уровня осилит каждый , а дальше только уверенных в своих силах людей, но это того стоит. Награда это красивые виды и маленькая победа покорения ещё одной вершины, всем удачи и будьте осторожны на подъеме.

Bardzo ciekawy zamek z nietypowym półkilometrowym wejściem (tunelem) wykutym w skałach ze schodami, więc nie polecam klaustrofobikom. Wejście jest trudne do zlokalizowania-znajduje się od strony rzeki, po pokonaniu tunelu trzeba się wspinać po skałach. Piękny widok ze szczytu zamku. Miejsce zdecydowanie warte odwiedzenia.
