Nice way to remember and honour the lives lost on that great tragedy. I remember when we heard on the news, so far away from there from my home town and being at the place 20 years later...

Wonderful at night. Great options for food and drink. We luckily went between 15-17 where a Thai band was playing for hours. Such a great vibe. Food is plentiful. Bring cash and hand wipes.

Sad historybut the place was up and thriving. The people are friendly. The shopping deals are great, and the beach side massage are very relaxing.

Beautiful! Free and excellent beach parking... Great food vendors for amazing prices. Peaceful! Away from the madness in the village of Kamala and Kamala Beach. The structures themselves are gorgeous and tell an amazing story while being so intricate. I love this place!

Would recommend. I was on a tour bus and I wish we could have stopped. If you get to go - stop, and read the historical markers of you can.

A nice beach in Phuket. It is a long stretch. But the wave might be unpredictable and strong especially during monsoon season.

Tsunami Memorial Park kamala: A Moving Tribute to the Victims of the 2004 Tsunami

I have visited Tsunami Memorial Park kamala several times, and I always feel a deep sense of sadness and respect for the victims of the 2004 tsunami. Tsunami Memorial Park kamala is a small park that is located opposite Phuket Fantasea, at the north end of Kamala Beach1. It is only 10 minutes away from my home by motorbike.

The park has a large statue of a mother holding her child, surrounded by a circle of water1. The statue symbolizes the love and protection of the mother, as well as the sorrow and loss of the child2. The statue is very realistic and touching. I often see people laying flowers and praying at the statue.

The park also has a wall with the names and photos of the people who died or went missing in the tsunami1. The wall is very long and has hundreds of names and photos. Some of the photos are faded or damaged, but they still show the faces of the people who were once alive and happy. The wall reminds me of how many lives were affected by the disaster.

The park is not only a place to mourn, but also a place to learn and remember. The park has some information boards that explain the causes and effects of the tsunami, as well as the recovery efforts and donations that followed1. The park also has some artworks and sculptures that express the feelings and messages of the survivors and the local community2.

Tsunami Memorial Park kamala is one of my favorite places to visit in Kamala Beach. It is a moving tribute to the victims of the 2004 tsunami. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to pay their respects and learn more about the history and culture of Kamala Beach.

Plaque was missing english translation. The abstract staute is interesting. The grass area, garden was great. The canal is disappointing, forgive me for saying the sewage at times is horrible. But it was very nice and meaningful otherwise.

Very Moving. I visited this place exactly a year after the Tsunami struck. The devastation was still very apparent. What struck me most was the total destruction of the coral beds close to shore. I didn't expect such utter devastation of these beds that had taken hundreds of years to grow. We sometimes forget the effect on wildlife from these natural disasters too. That said it is a truly beautiful spot in the world =. Somewhere that I will return to one day.
