Well organized, and other than than the long wait to get on the ferry it is smooth operation. A car with two passengers will cost about $7 (250 baht) and that fee is now charged from each end while before the return from elephants island was free.

Ferries are quite old and rusty but it fun to travel. Its better you travel early .and take package for taxi with ferry included.

Great ferry service. Didn't have to wait long, each way. Fair price. No drama, no hassle, not strict, relaxed and friendly. Has bathrooms. Will certainly visit again. Makes for good photos.

By Thai standards, this operation is very well organised.
Really busy at holiday times, going to Koh Chang, but the 1 hour wait was worth it, once you get across.

Time schedule published on Google is not followed but anyway very efficient cruising. We waited up to 10min before boarding and 20min later we went off Shore.

Amazing ferry service with a very reasonable price (80 THB per person). I used it to get to and from Koh Chang. The ferries were well maintained and have on board toilets and cafes/mini markets.

The timetables don't really mean much, they just go back and forth the ferries in Laem Ngop based on the crowd. There is a lot of seating to wait for your ferry in the pier and the views are equally breathtaking. I went there on the peak season so there was a very huge line of cars waiting to come on board the ferry. Only takes around 30 - 40 minutes to reach the pier.

Overall, a very convenient and reliable ferry service and piers.

The ferrys goes regularly and it is cheap, easy to pay and board/unboard the ferry. There is shops on the ferry if you want something to drink or eat while you are on board.

This place is beautiful to start your journey to koh chang island... I took a night bus to reached this point and it's really amazing to be here early in the morning.. it takes about 1 hour to reach to the koh chang island.. tickets are available at ferry point and also if you are coming from bangkok via bus so those travel agents also arrange for it.. it's beautiful to be here in the morning.

Fast and reliable service. Not the newest ships and don't look perfectly maintained, but they do their jobs. Proper organization at both piers by plenty of staff. I paid 280 THB for a car and 2 adults. On one side I waited 5 minutes and on the return about 15 till boarding. Crossing itself takes about 30 minutes. You can't pre-book the tickets. First come first serve. Went there quite early (8 in the morning) as it can be very crowded around lunchtime at the weekends (friend of mine waited 3 hours the week earlier as he arrived at around 12).

We made it over to koh Chang.. only way to get to town after is taxis that wait and they charge whatever they feel like.. if you arrive earlier you can rent a bike at shop opposite if open and drive to your own hotel.. bike rental is 250baht which is around the going rate. We found a place in town for 200 bhat

It's also called Ao Thammachat. Bus leaves for Laem Ngop from Ekkamai at 7:45am will get here directly. Then u can buy a regular ferry ticket for 80 bhats to get to Koh Chang.
To return to Bangkok from ferry, if u did not book return ticket, u can take an orange songthaew to a bus agency in Trat, which locates just at the corner between Sukhumvit road and hwy3156. It will cost about 30 minutes for the songthaew to get there, and the price is 100 bhat per person. At the bus agency, u can buy bus ticket for Bangkok, the price is 279 bhat. The bus is run by Cherdchai Tour, and it costs about 6 hours to get to Ekkamai. The bus will stop at Chanburi bus station to pick up passengers.

Besides the main road at the ferry, there are several small restaurants and a fruit shop. There is also a lovely Buddhist temple with walking distance nearby.

Reasonably priced and they were running nonstop on Jan. 2nd trying their best accommodate all the tourists leaving after the new year. Ferries don't have an snacks, and just modest bathrooms but the ride doesn't take long. As good as you could expect for Thailand.

Sometimes long queues but okay

The only connection between the mainland and the island. Ferries are different: old and scary, new and fast. Schedules are inconsistent and should be checked before travel.
