Bang Bao Pier

Bang Bao fishing village is a charming destination that earns a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me. The beautiful pier is definitely worth a visit, offering a variety of stands where you can indulge in local food and drinks. It’s also a great spot for those who enjoy a bit of shopping, with something to find for everyone. The village itself is quite intriguing and worth exploring.

Getting there is an adventure in itself, ideally by scooter, through quaint, old villages. The journey takes you along narrow, winding roads through a national park, where you often encounter monkeys. It’s a scenic and enjoyable ride that adds to the whole experience of visiting Bang Bao.

Bang bao pier locates in Bang bao bay, it is used for many tourist boat trip and to hop to other islands, such as koh mak, koh kood.
There is a float market at the pier.
At 9am and 4:30pm, the pier will be very busy, since the tourists taking the boat trip will come and return to the pier, at other time, the pier will be relatively quiet, especially at dusk. There is a tower at the end of the pier. The view at the pier is not bad.

Stepping onto Bang Bao Pier feels like you've unlocked a gateway to Koh Chang, Thailand's third-largest island. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an idyllic fishing village where the horizon, sea, and land meld together in a serene dance.

When you get off, you'll smell the sea and hear birds. You'll also see many fishing boats on the sea. This place is not just for catching boats. It shows what Koh Chang is all about.

The pier is on the west coast of the island. From here, you can easily get to places like Lonely Beach and Kai Bae. White sand beaches are close by, showing how beautiful Koh Chang is.

Seafood restaurants abound, each dishing out sumptuous oceanic delicacies. Nearby, souvenir shops display a myriad of artifacts and crafts, waiting for visitors to find the perfect memento of their travels.

Bang Bao Pier's location offers a good connection to places such as Laem Ngop and Salak Phet. This busy pier has many wooden stilts in the calm sea. It's a main spot for ferries, fishing boats, and shared rides, making it perfect for different day trips.

Walking on the pier feels like being in an old fishing village. You can see fishermen working and boats nearby. There are places to eat seafood and shops to buy souvenirs to remember Koh Chang.

From every corner, panoramic views on the Gulf of Thailand present a dream canvas for photographers. The clear demarcation where the azure waters kiss the sky is simply mesmerizing. For those eager to venture further, ferries are ready to whisk you away to Laem Ngop, revealing another facet of coastal Thai life.

From klong khloi, it's around 25min by foot.

Very interesting pier. Small shops are lined up along the pier and bring a unique ambiance. Make sure you bring thai bath in cash since most shops in koh chang won't accept credit cards. You either use cash or scan most of the time.

Great variation of locally produced craftwork and alive and kicking seafood - until you select it for your dish.

And before you do in, treat yourself with a pineapple so sweet, it is the food for gods.

Fun pier to walk. Many shops and a couple of sea food restaurants . Very long pier !! with many boating tours to other islands .

Nice long pier. This is where you can catch the namy boats for snorkeling and diving in Koh Chang island. Or to go to other nearby small islands for lodging. In the way to the pier there's namy small shops and restaurants. Right at the pier there's a nice big café, very cozy.

It’s a pier: you can come in by boat; get off; and in addition it’s pretty.

I love this place, it has so much character. The ramshackled somewhat random collection of wooden stilted building sprouting either side of the central walkway is a large part of it's charm. Some of these buildings are in disrepair and others look as they they might disintegrate into the sea, but it all seems to hang together with a variety of shops and eating places. There is even accommodation to rent on the Pier.
But there are two parts to this Pier, the second part is open, and a mooring area for boats doing dive/snorkeling trips, sightseeing and fishing boats. Great views out to sea and the shoreline from the smal lighthouse at the end of the Pier. This place is a tourist attraction in it's on right.

A lovely place with some interesting shops, diving school, fishing boat trips, snorkeling boat trips, day trips to other nearby islands, all can board here. There are some lovely guest houses by the pier and many restaurants.

Nice little pier and market selling snacks and tourist souvenirs. Some lovely views well worth a walk around.

An interesting place to visit, you can stay on the pier and nearby. Also you can stay across the water (not far to walk but you need a torch at night. Motorcycle parking 10baht

All theway on the southern tip of Koh Chang, you can find Bang Bao, which is a lovely village to walk through. There's a pier and a small beach as well. In the village you can go shopping for some souvenirs and relax at the pier, listening to the calm water. Boats to several other islands depart from here as well.

Nice place.. to walk around.. it’s the departure point from many boats trips..
and you get as well plenty of small shops, cafes and restaurants..
if you walk until the end you will have a good view for sunset and a small lighthouse.. it’s a very chill place to be!
I can just recommend a stop if you go on the south of the island!!

This is a nice market to visit. There are seafood restaurants, and a long pier that ends with a lighthouse. The views from the lighthouse are really pretty.
