Khao Lak Sunset Resort

Location location!... the real highlight was the private beach capped by a national forest on one side and a row of nice restaurants with local food and coffee on the other. The rooms are simple, clean, tidy and spacious, and our balcony was huge with a beautiful ocean view. The friendly staff were helpful with everything we needed. The restaurant on site was meh, but it wasnt what I booked it for anyway. Very well-worth the price!

Fantastic view and location for the money. Very quiet and family oriented. Very peaceful. Gorgeous sunsets right from your balcony.

Also has a small pool right in front of the beach. Located at the end of a large bay so it has a feel of privacy.

Great rooms, great location and good food and drinks! Very high value for money. Their mojitos are great, and we tried the green curry chicken and the panang chicken, both really good, and to great prices. Also the staff is so sweet and accomodating.

What annoys me though, were the tourists who woke up early, claimed sunbeds with towels, but then went back to bed and didnt use the sunbed until several hours later. It's the same further down the beach, but it's so annoying!!

You get what you pay for. One of the chepest beachside resorts in Khao Lak, so do not expect much. The place is basic and a little run down but the staff were professional and accomadating.

No wonder this place is called Sunset Resort… the sunsets are AMAZING!!

The restaurant on the property was very good and had a great atmosphere.
But the sunset views.. oh my! It was such a pleasure to be there to witness the color shows for three nights straight in April’22.

First impressions as we pulled into the drive, were not good ... the security house was like a rubbish store, while the Convention meeting rooms to the right looked liked they had not been used for some time.
Nevertheless we checked in feeling our sub 1000 bht covid rate would help sooth things ....
But then it all changed ... the room had been freshly renovated, the shower and fittings all clean and working, with a hot & strong shower. The bed was clean and soft by Thai standards.
We wandered to the beach where it was fairly clean, and enjoyed a 60 baht beer Chang (120 plus at most places). The pool was clean and the staff always pleasant.
The beach shelves fairly quickly so unless its low tide, swimming was a wonderful experience. In all I hope business comes back for them soon, but in the mean time, I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Have stated twice in 2022 and will stay again and again. Peaceful place. Lovely staff. Big rooms, all facing the sea and sunset. Breakfast buffet was great, when less guests it’s menu. Restaurant right on the beach is fabulous!

An amazing hotel in Khao Lak. The staff was kind, cheerful and very helpful. The room was nice and clean, and you can see the most amazing sunset every day ! We stayed there 3 weeks. It’s a bit remote from Khao Lak markets and restaurants but it’s so peaceful that we didn’t mind … and they will be happy to rent you a scooter. If we come back to Khao Lak we will definitely stay there again.

Very helpful friendly staff who organised transport for us. An easy room right on the waterfront. Well priced.

Sunset Beach is the first beach after Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, and as you can see the picture, they are not the longest beach.

From the water's edge up to the road, are there about 100 meters of mountain slope covered in lush rainforest.

On the slope in the forest are six luxury resorts, and to get to the beach, you have to go one of these resorts.

The advantage of being half a private beach is that it is kept very clean and in pristine condition by the resorts.

Swimming: I did not see any lifeguards when I was there, but with six luxury resorts I am sure it is safe to swim, and some form of lifeguards. . .

Nice place. We have the room with sea view and it's wonderful :) There are jungles at the back side, they are beautiful too :)

Very recommendable pizza and pasta as an alternative to thai food every day! Also the staff is really nice and attentive. 👍
