Tawai Thai Cuisine

We were staying at saii Laguna where the restaurant provides a private pick up and drop service.

The service with a smile was very effecient and precise. The food was excellent and highly recommended. We had the pork neck, spring roll, mango salad and fish cakes for appetizers and veg red curry, chicken pineapple curry, soft shell crab and Thai herbs steamed fish. Everything was great. But my fav was the pork neck ans the Penang red curry.

The coconut ice cream at the end was just perfect. Overall 2500 thb for the entire meal, so highly recommended.

2024 Feb - 5 years later and Tawai still offers consistency and high quality ingredients which makes it my favourite Phuket restaurant. We pay a premium but I gladly pay it.

Tried a few different (cheaper and Michelin) restaurants and quickly learned that Tawai is great value for money because of its high quality.

Those that comment you can find cheaper Thai food are correct and we did, but were perpetually dissapointed with size of (tiny) shrimp or lesser quality of squid and fish or not getting the correct order which was very frustrating.

Invariably we came back to Tawai for our favourite dishes and to try new ones and never felt dissapointed.

I would venture to say our love of Thai food is in many ways thanks to Tawai..

2019 - I won't say this is the best restaurant in the Laguna area because "best" is subjective depending what you're looking for.

I can say this is my favourite restaurant and these are the dishes that by comparison with other Thai restaurants set Tawai apart in terms of flavour which is sometimes subtle, sometimes strong or well balanced as the dish requires it.

I have had the best papaya salad (well balanced, lots of peanuts), shrimp with lemongrass salad (divine really), green curry, massamam beef curry (very rich and peanuty), panang curry, steamed fish with lemon sauce.

The Tom Kha soup is delicious, not sickly coconut heavy but somehow sweet, subtle and sour at the same time - you won't find a better one.

The mango with sticky rice pudding is out of this world: large fresh mangos, rich coconut cream and comforting warm sticky rice.

We ate here almost every day for 2 weeks and this is our second year coming back.

The service is super friendly (the lady who served us knew exactly what we wanted) and yes is a bit more expensive than the "rustic" options but it's clean, they understand English, the chefs are amazing and consistent and it's overall a risk free, pleasant experience and good value for the quality of food they serve.

Clay pot prawn vermicelli, green chk curry, red beef curry, pad Thai … super delicious. We went there three times during our stay.
Provide pick up and drop off service. After dinner, they even offered to send us back to hotel after shopping around.

Customer service is excellent. Very welcoming. Food was delivered in a timely manner and was presented appealingly. Tasty second time at this restaurant. I would definitely recommend.

My family (8) went there for the Thai cooking class and it was a really fun experience, they were amazingly helpful, knowledgeable and kind. They had prepared everything for us so it was very easy and we were also able to take our delicious food home! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn about Thai food :)

Everything was delicious. But stand outs were the mango salad and the tuna salad. Drool!!!! Fresh and full of flavour.

If someone will ask me, what the place in Phuket is worth to see. I would say that it’s a big mistake not to eat here, and leave the island. Everything is delicious! And Staff is very helpfull, their recomendations are very accurate.

Smithies was perfect too!!! We tried watermelon and mango-pineapple.

there is no food i dont like.. yet! ive been here quite a few times and i was never disappointed. all are tasty and worth it.

We ate here a couple times, the food was excellent. Try the crab red curry, so delicious. And any of their pineapple curry‘s, also extremely yummy.

Good food, nice staff, they want to make you comfortable. The miracle salad and the vermicelli prawns is tasty! They will make the food as you want it too, if you want to add something.

There is a lunch/early dinner menu (mainly soup) and special daily dishes which are really cheap and are fantastic.
Highly recommended!

Nice place to have local thai food

Ordered the wanton noodle soup on a rainy day. Not only did it warm this cold body up, it thawed my frozen heart, fixed my aching back and brought joy back into my life.

Do try it out if you’re in the area.

Very Good food, nice and gentle service and a perfect shuttle service from/to the hotel.

Went here twice, enjoyed the authentic Thai cuisine and flavourful dishes. Green Thai vegetable curry was a particular favourite and the vegetarian pad Thai. Friendly staff.
