Visiting such places boosts your Iman.
Very informative place. Very well managed and guided.
When we visited last time on 24 Dec 2018 it was "ladies only" day.
I think they have now separated days for men and women. Better to check before visiting.
First confirm the address of museum on google map because first it misguided us then we had to relocate but it was worth visiting although only my wife went in there with my son and his pram.
There are separate washrooms for men and women.
They even had zamzam to drink for free.
Parking space as well.
Safe and clean environment.
Female staff who guides female visitors in different languages.

Really enjoyed looking at old artifacts and historical pieces from both the Kaabah in Makkah and Masjid Nabavi in Medinah. Only downside was no prayer area so we prayed Asr out side in the gardens. The

A palace turned into a public museum, open for all. No entrance fee is needed. Though it is mentioned that the closing time is 9 pm but sometimes they close it at 8 pm.

Upon entering the museum, you can learn about the pre- history of Arabian peninsula and Islam. There are few information about our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the 2nd floor.
Information about the founder of KSA, king Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud. Some history of post KSA. And visualise many sculptures of ancient Arabia.

I found praying area beside the entrance of the museum infront of the help desk.

It will take you a good amount of time if you want to read all of the information.

Al-Zaher Palace Museum in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, is a historical museum that exhibits the history of Makkah and various archaeological collections for different periods of Islamic history in the region and was built in an area of 2700 m2 covering two stories and surrounding gardens.[1] It was built with an Islamic architectural style with cut and carved stone.

Al-Zaher Palace was constructed in 1944 and was one of the headquarters for King Abdul Aziz in Makkah where he used to meet the delegates of Muslim pilgrims coming from different Islamic Countries. The palace has then been transformed into a museum for Islamic history in Makkah.
The museum consists of 15 halls including:

Pre-Islam Hall.
The Kingdom's Antiquities Hall.
The Holy Quran Hall.
The Prophet's Biography Hall.
Hajj Hall.

The museum holds many artifacts related to the history of Saudi Arabia, pre-islamic era and Islamic history with charts showing family tree of the Prophet. It is very educative, especially for children and teens and time well spent.
