This is a small compound on the side of a busy road about 20 mins away from the Haram where the blessed and beloved wife of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) is resting. We asked our taxi driver to stop here for 5 mins on the way to Makkah from Madinah.

This is the grave of Maymoonah (رضي الله عنها), one of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ). It is located on Hijrah Road, 20 km from Makkah, in a locality named Sarif. This is the same place where they were married in 7 AHS.

I had been to this place. MAIMUNAH  رضي الله عنها grave in Sarif before Jamoom while gong to Madinah at left side.

Yazeed bin Asam narrates that when MAIMUNAH رضي الله عنها fell ill in Makkah, she had no relatives.
She therefore told the people "Take me outside Makkah. I shall not be dying here (in Makkah) because Prophet ﷺ told me that I shall not die in Makkah."
She was then taken to Sarif beneath the tree where she married Prophet ﷺ in the year 7 hijri Shawwal.
Rasool ﷺ stayed over for a few days after the wedding. Her old name was Barra, changed by Prophet ﷺ.

It was here that she then passed away (before Aa'isha رضي الله عنها ) in the year 51 Hijri and was buried. As per Tabari and Ibn Kathir her age was nearly 81.

She was the only Prophet’s ﷺ wife witnessed all the periods of four Khalifa and died in the period of Khalifa Mu’awiyya (رضی الله عنہ).

After the Prophet's ﷺ death, Maimunah continued to live in Medina for another 40 years.
It is related that at the funeral of Maimunah, Ibn Abbas said,
"This is the wife of Allaah's Messenger ﷺ so when you lift her bier, do not shake her or disturb her, but be gentle."

Allaah mentioned revealed verse about her:
Any believing woman who dedicates herself to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to wed her, that is only for thee and not for the believers. (Qur'aan 33:50).

Whizzing past the grave of Ummuhatul Mu’mineen Maymunah, رضي الله عنها…unfortunately when traveling to Makkah by bus one is not able to stop give Salam or Du'aa.
…our noble heritage seems to be easily brushed aside…our connection to the sanctity of our past history slowly eroded away…

located on Hijrah Road, 20 km from Makkah and contains the grave of Maymoonah (may Allah be pleased with her), one of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ). It is in a locality named Sarif and is the same place where they were married in 7 AH.

Maymoonah (may Allah be pleased with her) was the daughter of Harith-bin-Hazan. Her original name was Barrah, but she was later renamed Maymoonah by the Prophet (ﷺ). She was first married to Aburehm-bin-Abduluzza. According to some reports, she was married twice before she became Ummulmominin (mother of the Believers). She had been recently widowed when the Prophet (ﷺ) married her at Sarif, a place lying on his journey to Makkah when he was on his way for ‘Umrah in Zil-Qa’dah, 7 A.H.

The Prophet (ﷺ) had intended to start living with her when in Makkah after performing ‘Umrah but, as the Qureysh did not allow him to enter Makkah, he called her over to him in the same place on his return journey. Many years later Maymoonah (may Allah be pleased with her) died and was buried exactly at the same place in 51 A.H. (at the age of 81). This is a strange coincidence that at a certain place during one journey she is married, at the same place on the return journey she starts living with the Prophet (ﷺ), and at the very place during another journey she dies and is buried there.

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says:“Maymoonah was the most pious, and the most mindful of her kith and kin, among the Prophet’s wives.”

Yazid-bin-Asam says: “She was seen either engaged in salat or in domestic work. When she was doing neither, she was busy in Miswak.”

She was the last woman to be married to the Prophet (ﷺ). Certain Muhaddithin have, however, mentioned one or two other marriages contracted by the Prophet (ﷺ) after her.

Our Mother Syeda Maimoonah (رضی اللہ عنہا), she was also a great scholar of religion. Even her nephew Syeduna Abdullah Ibn Abbas (رضی اللہ عنہما) who widely considered a greatest scholar interpreter and commentator of the Holy Quran, was her pupil.

Also the local guide "Syed Ahmed" paid very good tribute to her. However he quoted, "She was the only Prophet’s ﷺ wife witnessed all the periods of four Khalifa", which is not right, as Our Mother Syeda Umm-e-Salamah (رضی اللہ عنہا) had passed away later on 61 Hijri (i.e. 681 AC).
