Great little place with fantastic Portuguese style food with great vibe. Octopus salad and cod salad are really good as appetiser and pork and steak were also nice done. Service was friendly and professional. Really good place to have a dinner and all dishes are well priced! Must try when in Porto!

I’m a happy hiker. I had steak with fried egg and the bread was phenomenal. Just perfect bread. The steak was good, not too heavy and well portioned. The egg was fried well with a little runny yoke. I don’t even like eggs but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place especially the Steak sandwich!

I've got to say, this sandwich is hands down the best I've ever had. Just imagine a perfectly half-fried egg with its runny yolk, paired with Portuguese cheese, and a slice of beef steak cooked to perfection, all snugly nestled between two crispy yet tender slices of bread. As you take a bite, that egg yolk oozes out, adding a creamy, slightly salty twist to the delectable beef steak.

Regarding the side of potato chips – they look like they're straight from a bag, but with the first bite, you realize they're freshly fried with a tantalizing mix of spices, and perfectly seasoned.

It's such a treat, 9.25/10.

This was my go-to food/drink spot during my trip to Porto. I essentially went here once a day. The steak, cheese, and egg sandwich was phenomenal and both the white and red sangria were mind-blowing! I don’t normally like white sangrias, but it kind of reminded me of a mojito - which I absolutely loved! Really great spot with awesome prices - a nice change of pace from the typical tourist spots. Highly recommend checking this place out!

We had a great lunch here, the sandwich of pernil especial was amazing as was the beef sandwich, but that one is harder to eat so I like it a little less.

The people is so nice here, making you feel very welcome.

Amazing food and prices, the steak sandwich was great and a pint of ultra cold Super Bock only 2 euros which is a steal for sure also service was great too, very friendly and helpful staff.
Only complain was that the place is packed (understandably) so you sit very close to other people, I was leaning back to back with the guy behind me.

I found this place via the Google reviews and was very pleasantly surprised by how good the sandwiches were. At first entry, it was a bit packed inside and how much space to sit. Most of the sandwiches here are sent as takeaway, but dining it is a good option, though be prepared to sit at the bar stool tables when it gets full.
We were recommended the pork sandwiches with goat milk cheese and the steak sandwiches with egg. I would say that the pork sandwiches were absolutely delicious and in general, the whole meal was a very good price, roughly 6-8 euros per sandwich. We also had the tripas doce with sweet egg filling, it tasted like the egg custard filling of a Portuguese egg tart and was absolutely delicious!
I was very thrilled to have found this restaurant and my family loved it as well. I would highly recommend choosing this restaurant for a lunch

Lareira feels like a hidden gem, albeit a super popular one 😀. Their sangria is sooo good (the white is best imo but the red is also great), and you get a large glass of it for a small price. Their chicken with Portuguese cheese sandwich is ah-ma-zing, as is the pork shank one. Don’t normally care about potato chips, but theirs are homemade with spices and are really terrific.

Cosy little restaurant with superb quality food for very reasonable prices. We sampled a range of the sharing dishes and sandwiches over a couple of visits and everything we tried was delicious. All of the meat especially tasted very fresh and high quality, fantastic value for the prices they are charging. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful, and the old stone interior makes for a nice setting to enjoy your meal.

Great place in the city center. Service was fast and waiter friendly. The salad was maybe a bit tiny but we really enjoyed the meat and cheese board. Cheap and tasty wine. Their sandwiches look really tasty as well, but it will be for next time. The place is easily packed, so better calling or going early

We were in Porto for the days and twice we ate here. Picapau was delicious. But the best were desserts. I recommend sweet eggs delight and chocolate salami.

Delicious food with very cheap prices. The pork shank sandwich with cheese and the medium rare steak were exquisite. The service was good as well. The restaurant is quite small but it has a nice vibe to it. 10/10 would recommend

Our first stop after arriving in Porto and it did not disappoint. Had the pork with cheese sandwich and it was very tender and tasty! Will recommend as a quick afternoon snack.

Despite the waiting time, it was definitely worth the wait. All the staff were super friendly and recommended delicious traditional Portuguese food. Everything was so flavourful and filling all at an affordable price. The restaurant was super cosy and we didn’t feel rushed at all whilst eating.

Came here for an early dinner on a Sunday. It was pretty busy but seated immediately. They have an English menu. The octopus salad was very tender and fresh. Ordered the half smoke meat and cheese which was the perfect size for a starter, loved the softer cheese. Split the pernil sandwich with cheese and it was so juicy and savory, love that the bread soaked up the delicious sauce. Served with homemade crisps that were so light and crunchy. Felt very local and not touristy and cheap prices.
