I was recommended this place and I must say if you are a food lover you must visit this place. They have all the delicious produce of Porto under one roof. They had mushrooms, olives, fish, meat, wine, coffee, pastry and even some chocolates. I especially loved the Oysters and the sea Urchins.

Mercado do Bolhão is a nice little market in Porto that feels very tourist friendly. You can find a lot of fresh products like fruit, fish, and meat. The market has many shops selling products like cheeses, wines, olive oils, and traditional crafts. I didn't have an opportunity to eat at any of the restaurants there, but I've only heard great things about them. Overall, I had a great experience at the market; there's a lot to see.

Love visiting this place! Great for sampling, tasting, snacking. Fresh foods, vegetables, fruits, wine, seafood (oysters, urchin, sushi) charcuterie, desserts and more at fair prices.Very clean market, not congested on a February afternoon. Would be a great rain day stop. Close enough to visit train station as added stop.

Traditional market converted to modern one, often busy with tourists. However good less crowded and well organised place to visit and buy local and some imported produces veggies, seafood, fruits and snacks.

Bolhão Market has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century. It has been a bustling marketplace for generations and is considered one of Porto's most emblematic markets. The market building itself is a notable example of neoclassical architecture. Its distinctive facade, featuring a large wrought-iron entrance, adds to the market's charm. The market is home to a variety of stalls selling fresh produce, meats, seafood, flowers, and traditional Portuguese products. It's a great place to explore local flavors and ingredients.
Bolhão Market is a fantastic spot to purchase authentic Portuguese goods, including cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruits, and regional specialties. Vendors often offer tastings, allowing visitors to sample local products..
Within and around Bolhão Market, there are also small cafes and eateries where visitors can enjoy traditional Portuguese dishes. These places often provide a cozy setting to savor local flavors.
Bolhão Market is not just a marketplace; it's a cultural and historical landmark that reflects the city's traditions and the importance of local markets in Portuguese culture.
Bolhão Market has long been a must-visit for both locals and tourists seeking an authentic market experience. While the market has faced challenges and discussions about its future, it remains an integral part of Porto's cultural and culinary identity.

Today, I visited the market in the center of Porto. I did it to avoid regretting a missed opportunity. It's clear that this location caters to tourists, with tourist prices. I won't say the market is a must-visit, but 5 euros for a glass of port wine is a bit much. However, I tried it and didn't regret it. The ultimate choice is yours, as you can buy a bottle of port wine in a store and enjoy a larger quantity.

One of the best local markets I have ever been. Friendly vendors and a good mix of fresh produce as well as snacks you can eat right on the spot. There is a wide variety of pastries, fruits, vegetables, seafood, cheese and meat. So everybody should be able to satisfy his or her cravings.

The market has been beautifully restored and houses a wonderful array of fresh local produce and delicatessen products. This is most definitely worth the visit. Go hungry so you can enjoy some of the food and drinks on offer. Exploring the market, chatting to friendly store owners and sampling the food on offer is an incredible experience and one we will repeat when next we are in Porto.

You MUST go this amazing market if you are visiting Porto, incredible variety of fresh products, local pottery and handcrafts. Easy to walk around enjoying a very nice Porto wine and tasting all the delicious food and appetizers you will find on the way. We got beautiful souvenirs, awesome fish, seafood and veggies. I’m coming back for sure in my next visit to Porto.

Lovely market in the heart of Porto. I was so surprised to see how clean and well organized it is. There are many types of products you can find here and what I liked the most was that I was able to try a lot of the food and drinks. Prices are reasonable for a visit. My advice for you is to come here when you are a bit hungry to be able to try the local food.

Plenty of stalls selling lots of tasty food, drinks, fruit and veg, sweets and you buy sample boards of cheese, meats, oysters and all kinds of tasty treats. There are also plenty of stalls selling traditional souvenirs. We only found out about the market on our last day. We will definitely visit here again to browse eat and drink.

Recently renovated market, beautifully done. Amazing amount of permanent stalls with fresh local produce. Visit early morning to buy fruit, bread, cheese, and of course pastries! Have a breakfast there and really pick up the local atmosphere and wonderful smells food.
People were really helpful, friendly and amazing nearly all stands spoke English when we tried speaking Anglo-Portuguese. A very old garden shop Hortico is located southwest corner on the building well worth a visit the senior gentleman obviously loves plants and gardens.

❤ that it’s so clean and tidy. There are quite a good variety of things from fresh fruits and vegetables to unique sliders to port wine to fresh seafood. So much things to consume within such a short period of time. Recommend to come earlier in the morning. When we’re about to leave, the crowd starts coming in.

I was able to visit this historic market in the evening and it is a wonderful place. From fruit to seafood, from cheese to wine. You can walk with your glass and cheese plate in your hand, browse the stalls and shop. Or you can have your pasta prepared in the wheel of cheese and go to the stall with olives. There are also stalls selling birch and flowers. You can have a chocolate crepe prepared or try local flavors from the mini bakery. The cheese and seafood stalls were my favorite... by the way, there are tables and stools at the entrance of the market, if you are lucky you may come across an empty one.

New and doesn’t disappoint if you want to spend some time shopping for typical and top notch Portugues products. I stopped in for a pastel de nata (custard cake) and coffee and both were awesome. The best of both i had on the trip. There are restaurants on the top level but did not visit.

So many good options to eat and drink, a bit pricy but expected. Many toilets and close to metro and other types of transportation. On the second floor you can find many restaurants, including vegetarian options. It’s a great spot to taste local treats!
