It was a great experience. Love buying fresh fruit, veggies and meat in one place. Cake and coffee a bonus. People are friendly, helpful and fun. Well done Portimao market.

If you like fish and grocery markets this place is just fantastic.

Caters to the locals so you won't find a bunch of stalls serving food, but if you want to browse some fantastic produce and a huge variety of fish and seefood this place is for you!

Loved it. Clean place and fresh produce. Price are reasonable. Went two mornings in a row, because they didn't have fish on Mondays.

The seafoods only are available Tuesday onwards. The squids -amazing - comes in various forms and sizes, some bigger than my 2 palms put together. We loved the exotic barnacles (percebes) too - boil for few minutes in water with salt & sliced ginger - easy to cook and taste good and super fresh.

The chicken is cheap - we used 1 whole chicken to make Chinese ABC soup for 10pax. It cost less than €4 per chicken The chicken meet was sweet, juicy and the skin didn't have fats to it. Delicious!

Vegetables and fruits were fresh and yummy too.

Most of the sellers don't speak English but were friendly, willing to help us and explain to us some of the vegetables that we were not accustomed to.

Oh, the pumpkin jam with walnut or almond is a must try. They sell many types of cheeses too... 😋😋

Highly recommended to visit than just buying these produce from the hypermarkets.

However for strawberries, we found them much cheaper at Continente or Pingu Doce, more then half off!

Nice tidies and clean market with plenty of different local fruits ,vegetables and fishes, good place to explore and buy sea food . And market people are very good and welcoming . Seasonal stuff is quite cheap ,imported one is bit expensive.

A jewel from Portimão, you can get all your local produce here, fresh fish, bread, whatever you may like. A stimulation experience for the eye and especially the nose. A must go in Portimão!

Actually, the store name is Pingo Doce. Cheaper price compared to the Continental market. Fresh fish and daily meals, breakfast menu.

Best fish market in the entire city. Also you will find places for small snacks and the tipicql vegetables of the region.

Always a pleasure. Fresh, local produce. Cheap, and juicy fruit. Veg is lush and if you're into your fish, this is the place to go. Visit everytime we're here.
And the little café in the market make the best "tosta mista" with sourdough bread. Amazing.

Great shopping for fresh fish, meat and other goodies

Great market with amazing selection but make sure to get there early to get the best choices. Make sure to check the produce thoroughly, some sellers will sell rotten items or items past their best, hence get there early!

Nice market with fresh and local products. There are some fish, meat, vegetables and pastries, everyone is really nice.
