Restaurante O Cagarro

A real treasure! Located under trees set back from the beach, this unassuming restaurant serves great food. Popular with local families, but fine for couples or eating alone. I was recommended their best steak in a special sauce - it was superb!

Best family restaurant with quality food on Faial. So far as a new resident, this place merits the number one. Service based on details. Fish is excellent! Better and better the more you go.

You feel appreciated as a customer. Minor improvements for appetizers. Just be specific on what you expect and they will do everything to accomodate. Large plates. Good quality for the price. Recommend!

Very cosy time in this family restaurant. The waiter (the son of the owners as I discovered) was really nice; he recommended me a very tasty fish plate. Though the menu is only on Portuguese, they will show you any fish on the menu in a book with descriptions. I enjoyed my visit very much and would recommend anyone trying this place. :)

Very quaint and curious decor with a cozy ambiance, friendly and helpful staff, and really really tasty local food and ingredients. The menu is lacking in descriptions, and I made a mistake in making my order because of it (my food was still very tasty, but still, really no excuse for there being no more information on the menu other than "House Steak")

Lovely place. Not as fancy as a restaurant nearby but definitely has way better food. Everything was delicious and the service was great. I would come here again.

Buena comida. Pescado fresco, ternera y buenos postres. Algo caro comparado con otros en los que hemos comido en Faial. Unos 18€ por persona. Platos enormes, con mucha guarnición. Postres sobre 4€.

Espetacular, pratos diferentes e comida muito bem confeccionada

Hier gibt es frischen Fangfisch. Lecker zubereitet. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Der Hauswein und das Bier schmecken auch gut.

O Restaurante Cagarro na praia do Almoxarife é um restaurante de referência na freguesia da Fajã. Aqui a comida e tradicional com destaque para os carapaus fritos, sardinhas e cherne, polvo assado. A comida é uma maravilha e os donos e funcionários são muito atenciosos e diligentes com os clientes.

Simplesmente excepcional em todos os aspectos que esperamos encontrar num Restaurante. Devia ser também uma Universidade : cozinha, atendimento/acolhimento. MUITO OBRIGADO pelo almoço de 51 convivas do Continente.

O bife da casa (na caçarola com natas e cogumelos) é muito bom. Pessoal muito simpático. Em dias de bom tempo aconselho a esplanada. Muito agradável.

Unico nesta Ilha. As lapas feitas pelo Cagarro são deliciosas! A repetir, principalmente pelo peixe pescado na costa açoriana.

Hervorragende Limpets (Napfschnecken) und Fisch des Tages gegessen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Restaurant absolut empfehlenswert. Authentische azoreanische Küche!
