O Petisca

It was my super fancy schmancy night with a great seafood dinner. We ate stewed octopus, grilled seabream and swordfish. Especially mixed grilled fish was freshly caught and seared with light salt, and virgin olive oil so as to ooze the max “Umami” taste. Local Pico crispy fresh citrus wine 🍇 imparts a pronounced match. Price was impressionaly reasonable. Highly recommended!

N.B. we knew this place as A Tasca do Petisca, but we verified that it's the right place.

This was one of our top two meals on Pico. Our group of four adults had a carafe of house white wine, the grilled fish of the day (bluemouth rockfish), local steak with peppercorn sauce, regional steak (in a white wine and garlic sauce, topped with red pepper and a fried egg), and grilled squid in a garlic butter sauce made with fish stock. For dessert, we had “Portuguese sawdust,” which turned out to be alternating layers of whipped cream and crushed shortbread cookies. We enjoyed the neighborhood restaurant ambiance, service, and all the food.

Amazing food, great value, waiters super nice as well. Nicely presented. Nothing to say, had a great time!!

A busy small restaurant. Many locals and a great selection of dishes and flavourrs. Lunch buffet is great as are the dinner selections. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend! The food took my back to my childhood!

Reservations needed. Food and desserts both are excellent. Try the squid and octopus to start. The baba camela was tasty as well.

Friendly and inviting spot a few minutes away from center of Madalena. Arrived just as it opened and no need to reserve at least in late March.

Sampled a variety of local dishes including lapas and barnacles which were tasty and fresh. Servers very friendly and spoke great English.

We went to this place twice and tried many of their dishes. All of them perfect and tasty! For us it as the best restaurant of the island! The staff is very friendly and fast and working tirelessly to provide such good service! Such a great experience!

Excellent service and food, try the white sangria and the beef as well as the Atlantic salad. The Pico cheese platter is not to be missed too. Very happy overall absolutely recommended no wonder it has such a high score. A must place to eat when in Pico.

We got a tapas dinner here. Days later I’m still thinking about it. There was Azores sausage with homemade blackberry jam - delicious meat candy that very much reminded me of bbq. The tuna was the best I’ve ever had. Limpets we’re excellent. Very pleased and impressed with Pico and this restaurant especially.

Great food and great service. We ask for limpets, the tuna steak and the Pico sausage. Everything was perfect! Hopefully I’ll be back soon to this island and this restaurant.

Very nice place with excellent food and service, recommended by a local. The fact the restaurant is not on the city centre just helps. Better to book in advance, or just take some time and wait before being seated.

Buzzing place at lunchtime with A well stocked buffet that has lots of options. Dessert was lush. I chose the Chocolate mousse and it was light and airy. Great experience

Highly recommend the clams from São Jorge and the local fish. Lovely wines. We had a good bottle of Entre Pedras. Super friendly staff.

Went here twice. Had octopus, squid, cod and sardines. All super yummy and fresh. Wanted to come a third time but they are closed on Sundays. Definitely come here. Also Gina the waitress was so nice and lovely!.
