The restaurant was packed and you need to book before you go. The food was delicious, especially the melt in your mouth tuna. The gin selection was great. The service and venue were both interesting and fun

After arriving in Madelena and dining at a few other establishments, it was difficult to find a spot worthy of patronizing. Having found a few places that had fairly bad service, bad food, or both, it was refreshing to finally find O Cinco.
The atmosphere is fantastic. However, it is a fairly small establishment. Luckily, it was not busy, but keep the season and time of day in mind when you visit; there may be a wait. We experienced immediate seating and prompt table service from our waitress, Jessica. Drinks & appetizers within 10 minutes. Main courses within 20 minutes.
Libations were on point. We ordered the local Gin, would recommend. Food wise we ordered the cheese plate, Chicken Francesinha and Kebab Plate. All were fantastic and also highly recommended! We finished our dining experience with coffees and promptly paid at the counter once finished. A smooth experience all around!
If you're in the area, I can confidently recommend putting this place near the top of your dining list!

Our group of four adults stopped here for lunch. It was quite popular, so we had to wait a bit for an indoor table, and we were glad we did, as there was a brief shower just after we were seated. Three of us split two francesinha sandwiches with local steak (as well as ham and smoked sausage), topped with a thick tomato sauce with lots of melted cheese, while our fourth had grilled squid with boiled sweet potatoes and a salad that turned out to be coleslaw with corn. Everything was quite tasty, though we were glad we only ordered two sandwiches for three people.

This place truly is 5 stars. Our server, Carolina was very sweet, helpful and fast. We highly recommend trying the passion fruit sangria, lapas, and kebabs. Very delicious! Great location and cute atmosphere. Worth all the money!

If you are thinking about going there we advise to make a reservation in advance. The spot is very charming but small. Gets full fast.
Me and my husband went there for lunch and its was very good. I had tuna with sweet potato and a cabbage salad. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. My husband had the Kebab which was also really good.
Staff was nice and friendly. Highly recommend! :)

Small restaurant with a modern ambience, centrally located with good food and nice service. We had a dinner there and we enjoyed both the food and the service. Both meat and fish options are offered. We tried the grilled squid and the tuna steak and everything was delicious. Good wine list as well with a focus on local wines. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Reservations are highly recommended as the restaurant is popular among locals and tourists and queuing time without a reservation can be considerable.

Great place with a variety of foods.
I had garlic bread for starters, prawn feijoada and a crepe for desert.
Prices are okay, a little bit over average but still reasonable (especially if you come from Germany).
Try the the passion-fruit sangria, delicious! Comes with real passion fruit and not only the (bottled) juice.
Great service, fast, nice atmosphere.

We enjoyed our first night in Pico by dining at O Cinco. We wanted to try other restaurants during our stay, they were all a let down. You can tell there is energy & love in the service & food! We started with Limpets & bread to soak up the garlic butter. I enjoyed grilled tuna medium rare served with chimi churri and a refreshing
Salad, my wife had a pot of white beans simmered with prawns. Both were amazing

We ordered the falafel and passion fruit sangria. Everything tasted very good. There are more vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. The kitchen opens at 12 but we were able to order and enjoy sangria before. Good location, friendly staff.

Cozy atmosphere and delicious food. Reservation recommended as they fill up fast. They are closed from 1600-1800 daily

We stayed upstairs at My Bed in Pico for a few nights and ate dinner here twice, as well as lunch one day. They only take reservations at 7 PM – after that, you have to line up and wait for a table. (When we checked in at My Bed, they made us a reservation for dinner.) First night, my husband had tuna with sweet potatoes and I had a traditional Portuguese bread soup, totally delicious. It was garlicky and thick, filled with peeled shrimp with a raw egg on top. The egg cooks when it is stirred into the hot soup. There are also 2 unpeeled shrimp served with it, I assume for presentation purposes. Second time, I had their grilled squid (best I’ve ever eaten) and my husband had steak. Their desserts are also really tasty – all made in house and served in little canning jars. The 2 we had with passionfruit were particularly good. We also had their grilled limpets for lunch and they were tasty.

Perfect atmosphere (small but cosy), very friendly staff and the food was delicious. Of course we drank a wine, which you should defently do when you are on the Azores. The desert (some chocolat and crepes) tasted so nice. Defently a five star recommendation. I think in summer it can get really crowed.

Nice, small restaurant with a terrace. Beautiful interior with great lounge music. A good selection of local Pico wines and quiet rich menu of various dishes from homemade burgers, seafood, meat or vegetarian offer. We loved it!

Spectacular and really good value. The filet is top, really nicely prepared with garlic and peper flavors -will suprise you-; the kebab my wife had was top. Great value for your €€. Do not miss this place if you visit Pico.

Excellent local wine, traditional francesinha and delicious albacore steak. We have enjoyed our lunch very much. Only thing - the place is really miniature, so tables are very close and only few.

Very cute cafe with a great atmosphere. Staff was very kind! We had the kebab and prawns with beans. Prawns were sooo good!!!

This was our staple for dinners in Pico. They have a couple solid vegan options. Heated outdoor seating in a charming christmas-lit street.

Kebab was surprisingly wonderful and the sauce was great. The francesinha was good but too rich as a dish - no issues with the execution though

Janine and the lovely staff at O Cinqo made our visit at this small and vibrant spot very memorable. We highly recommend a reservation to secure a spot on the popular outdoor patio. However the indoor space is also lovely. Some favourites were the Sangria de Maracuja (passion fruit), Sopa da Día, and the Francesinha. Come for the welcoming atmosphere and filling food!
