We had excellent experience with them. We didn’t have a reservation and walked in on. Sunday at their downtown location. They had a clean hybrid car for us. The lady that helped us was one of the owners. She mentioned when we return the car at the airport her brother will check us out. So it’s a family operated company and they are very professional in their behavior. No upselling and high pressure. She documented all that scratches and dents carefully with us.
We returned the car and there were no issues. We loved Azores and when we return again, they will get my business.

Very good car almost like new, which can be a little scary as the roads are sometimes dirt and rocks. Lady handling the car was very professional and nice. Returning the car went smoothly and the person handling the return was friendly too.

Great service and flexibility as we had to cancel our rental due to highly unexpected and personal circumstances. Without asking, a refund was offered. Prior to this, communication was already great, pricing better than the competition and the car provided better than expected. Would recommend.

Be prepared to pay 25€ extra if the plane is late and you should arrive after hours, but there’ll still be someone there to open the office just for you.

When all others failed, tropical rent-a-car saved the day! Their rates were as posted, even on a day-of rental! We got the cheapest vehicle, unlimited miles for two days for about €47/day. That was the same price that Avis or Ilha Verde was offering and they were all booked up!

They were quick, painless and very friendly. English spoken here too is a plus. Located just behind the church where google map has it!
