Casa Guedes Progresso

Last night's reunion dinner at Casa Guedes Progresso felt like a warm hug after years apart. We hadn't seen our friends since 2019, and the Lisbon restaurant buzzed with the energy of catching up. The food was phenomenal. The octopus carpaccio was a refreshingly light starter, its delicate flavor a perfect contrast to the drama of the main course. Our table shared a sizzling pan of roasted Portuguese sausage, the flames dancing merrily as the savory aroma filled the air. Even the stewed gizzards, a dish I wouldn't normally gravitate towards, surprised me with its rich, comforting depth.

The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall delightful atmosphere. Casa Guedes Progresso is a must-try for anyone visiting Lisbon – the food is a celebration, and the company, in our case, long overdue

Lovely restaurant in Porto with good menu and excellent service. On arrival at your table you are offered a selection of starters tapas with explanation and prices of each. The drinks menu is diverse and good prices. The food menu is also very good. Service is very quick and very responsive. Good explanations given for food and drinks. Portion sizes are very good.

Friendly waitstaff and Excellent service. My wife and I were promptly sat and then we were offered a better table after just a few minutes under a heated section. Very kind and thoughtful staff! Also, the Food was fantastic. I ordered the #15 upon recommendation from our waitress Evellin. She was very polite and attentive. I was going to order the Pernil con queije de ovelha, but Evellin mentioned that #15 was the same sandwich but the caramelized onions, so i followed her recommendation. We also ordered the hotdog, chicken soup and pork cracklings. Everything was delicious! My wife and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Casa Guedes delivers a five-star experience with mouthwatering dishes and exceptional service, thanks to Evellin's outstanding attention to detail. The food is a feast for the senses, and the ambiance completes the perfect dining setting. Highly recommended!

Great restaurant and great service. Evellin offered us chances to taste the pork, onion and cheese so that we can order the sandwich which is suitable for us. The pork ribs are also delicious and the green wine is special. We had a good experience in this restaurant.

Absolutely delicious food, amazing atmosphere, staff was wonderful and kind and provided great recommendation for the sheep cheese and pumpkin jam dessert to pair with our wine.
I highly recommend this place for an all around great experience to try traditional Porto food.

What a charming place with friendly staff and great food. The food was truly delicious, and they do a twist on the traditional Francesinha sandwich that is very good. I am really surprised at the density of the sandwich; there is so much meat!

Most of all, the staff are absolutely amazing. I couldn't ask for better service, I think it is actually the best ice had in a really long time. I would certainly come back for the service, but stay for the food. The beer is nice and cold, which is nice after a hot day hiking around. TRIPLE THREAT!

A great dining experience at this restaurant, much of it due to Evelina, our exceptional waitress. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor stood out, making us feel well taken care of throughout our visit. Highly recommended!

Evellin is a great person with magnetic personality. It was delicious, fresh and full of various tastes (with enormous portion of French fries). Definitely recommended place to try.

Needed a quick place to stop to get a sandwich because we arrived in town late and this place was recommended to us. Really great selections for sandwiches and they’re not that expensive. The price is between six and eight euros. I got the pork and bacon sandwich and my wife got the portobello and vegetable sandwich. The service was quick the sandwiches came out just as quick and everything was good. Recommend stopping by if you’re in the area

We were recommended this place by a couple on the train and we are so glad we came! The roast pork pernil was simple but delicious and the francesinha was not as heavy as we thought it would be with the layers of meat and a coating of tasty cheese. Our servers (shout out to Evellin!) were also very attentive and I liked that they came around with the appetizers on a tray for us to choose from before we ordered, giving us clear descriptions of each item. Wish we had another few days in Porto to try it again!

Different than the original. More is sometimes not as good. In this case, still just as good as the original but different.

Pico Pau was totally unexpected. I ordered what I thought was something else, and the looks don't do it justice. It won't be for everyone but a meat soup style dish with pickled veggies for an acidic bite. Outstanding. Delicious, to be shared for sure. To much fire one person.

This place had AMAZING food!!! It was delicious and done with care. In my 4 day trip, I went here 3 times. The service was wonderful as well. The sandwiches were juicy, but not sloppy. I enjoyed everything I ate here. They do not add salt to the fries, so you might have to salt to your taste

I really enjoyed myself here, very friendly wait staff, seems like they are all friends which means it’s a nice environment to work. Beer was ice cold in a cooled glass and the staff offer various different Evellin and Gabriel are super attentive and really friendly providing great service! 100% recommend

I came here to try a Francesinha and am so happy I did. I absolutely loved my meal. My wife ordered the potato & kale soup along with the garlic shrimp tower and enjoyed both dishes.

Also, service was attentive and fast. I may need to stop by again for another Francesinha before I leave town.

Sandes is waaaaaay better than the Francesinha. It definitely is the best sandwich from Porto. French fries are also tasty and you see a lot of locals there. Recommend the sandwich with Pork, cheese and onions.
