Fortaleza da Luz

We loved the atmosphere and food so much we went there for lunch 2 days in a row! The mussels appetizer with curry and coconut milk is amazing, make sure you order bread so you can dip it in the sauce! Day 1 we had the prawn risotto and prawns with squid ink pasta, both were delicious and the portions are perfectly sized. Day 2 we had the Duck and Filet mignon risotto..again a delicious meal the duck was cooked perfectly. We had dessert but I can’t remember the name, it was yummy but I’m not much of a fan of dessert. The views from the restaurant were beautiful, the staff was great, helpful and always there when we needed them. They actually reserved their best table for us day 2 and it didn’t disappoint! Can’t wait to go back again next year!

Fabulous gem of a restaurant set over looking the ocean. Highly attentive staff who are very friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious and so well presented. A good drinks menu. Great green area for the children to play . Really loved this restaurant.

We had an amazing afternoon at Fortaleza restaurant in Praia da Luz. It was a beautiful day. The location, views and proximity to the ocean must be the best in the area. The service was excellent. The food was tasty with a local Portuguese flavour and style. The photos speak for themselves. An all round great experience. Fortaleza is a must visit for anyone visiting the area.

This restaurant is in a great location with great views. They were able to get us a table without a booking. The food was delicious especially the risottos and the garlic bread. The staff were all very friendly

Amazing views with great food at this restaurant close to Praia da Luz. The owner loves jazz and they host Jazz lunches every Sunday which is a great time to absorb the Algarve spirit. The staff here are very sweet and provide a very amicable experience.

Fortaleza Luz is among the overall best restaurants in all our travels. The food and menu are superb, the staff professional and polite and the competent oversight of the whole operation is obvious. The setting is uniquely spectacular. We cannot recommend Fortaleza Luz highly enough.

The garlic prawns were amazing, food, service and beach views were all wonderful so came twice in one week.

Absolutely beautiful venue for our wedding- we had the BEST day and cannot fault the Fortaleza. The view over the beach is gorgeous and so are the gardens. The staff were kind, generous and so attentive. The food was delicious and the staff happily catered to vegan and vegetarians. Luc who we liaised with to organise our wedding was attentive and went out of his way to help us. 100% reccommend a visit here either for dinner or to book a special event. You will not be dissapointed! Bonus is it has its own ice creamery attached with amazing ice cream ❤❤❤

In our trip around Portugal, this was our favorite meal. I got the seabass and it was delicious. We had a view of the kitchen and I got to see all of the food coming out and everything looked incredible. I could have easily come back here for another dinner or lunch.

Best dinner in 2 months of traveling Europe! Amazing ambience, outstanding service and perfectly prepared fish. Would be happy eating here every night! Beautiful restaurant with live music nights and crashing ocean waves sounds to enrich your meal. Excellent!!!

You can also just enjoy a drink on their terasse if you don't feel like eating anything.

Beautiful place to eat and relax. Perfect view to the sea, friendly service and a nice ambiente.

It was the best steak i ever ate.

Not been here for years but thought we'd take the plunge. We had sea bass and veal, both were delicious and cooked to perfection. We also indulged in a local bottle of Algarvian wine and desserts, which were also excellent! Attentive staff, lovely location and ambience. We will return soon 😋

Great food and very nice atmosphere. No reservation for external area, so I recommend you to get as early as possible (6-ish) to get a ocean view table for your dinner. Queuing up to be seated is likely. Keep in mind the kitchen does not serve food after 9:30 pm.
Very warm welcoming even in the busiest times. The food were served promptly and everything was very delicious. Prices are reasonable, you can get chef’s recommendation ( starter, main & dessert) for 25€ per person.
5 starts here, because the food was fresh and just perfectly cooked, however the service could be improved. Waiting time to get the desserts and to pay the bill was way too long, which was not great for the people who were still queuing up to be seated. We were charged for an extra bottle of water- so make sure you check the receipt before paying. They accept card payments.

Excelent place, very good meal with fantastic view on beach belowe. Very friendly staff. Also the meal is for very reasonable price. Worth to visit multiple times during your stay in this region.

We loved this restaurant. We went on a Saturday night and it was devine. The atmosphere (the live jazz especially), the food and the waiter’s. I would 100% recommend trying the regional specialty, fresh cod & seafood cataplana if you’re sharing with two!

Beautiful views from this really nice restaurant overlooking the sea. Food was top class, served by very helpful waiting staff. Overall...a fabulous experience, not to be missed, when visiting this area.
