GumTree - Restaurant & Lounge

Gum Tree is just off the main strip going down to the village. Situated in a lovely, quiet villa with around pool dining. What a fabulous team, who are trying very hard to bring in people just a tiny walk off the very 'tourist' path. Great local dishes and fresh produce. You really will miss out if you don't visit. And the dog on the nearby balcony who let's you know he is there from time to time is hilarious. Thank you Team Gum Tree!

Highly recommend this fabulous gem tucked off the main street of Carvoeiro. A tired family wandered in and took solace by the pool. The service was absolutely phenomenal – the best we have had since we’ve been here! They were especially attentive to our kiddos. We hope to return soon and wish them nothing but the best! Definitely recommend the fillet and Tagliata! Yeah, man it

Excellent service. Excellent food. Bread basket was ok. Cream of seafood soup was tasty. Had the tomahawk steak for two. Finished cooking steak on stone. Lovely ambience and experience. Pricier of the restaurants in Carvoeiro but worth it.

We was looking for place to eat and we was so surprised. First we thought it will be too expensive but we gave the chance and we are not disappointed at all. Prices are adequate to the portions of food and to the place where you are. In the terrace swimming pool is available. Menu is suitable for everyone. You can find fantastic pizza, pasta but also you can try typical Portuguese cuisine. Kids menu available - soup of the day was vegetable soup and it was fantastic! Personel polite and helpful.

The best food in Carvoeiro (period). Very warm and nice atmosphere, especially outdoors and around the pool. The staff is genuinely friendly and down to earth. Seafood cataplana was our favorite.

Such a delightful place we stumbled across. Been to 40+ restaurants in the Algarve and this is the best for everything: taste, setting, service and value. We had the tuna special and the sea bass.

Major hats off to Marco and the rest of the team, what a magical experience. We will be back.

Excellent restaurant with appetizing food and relaxing atmosphere. Beautifully decorated, this upscale restaurant is off the beaten path of the crowded tourist areas. Service is quick and served with a smile and the waiter takes the time to explain items on the menu. On a scale of one to ten, I would give this a fifthteen.

Spent a lovely Friday evening listening to Fado music and feasting on a local delicacy - Seafood Cataplana. The food was delicious and the service was attentive. The setting, around the pool of a villa turned restaurant, is magical, especially as evening arrives. A great place to eat great food and listen to some lovely music!

Had a wonderful time at the Gum Tree, amazing octopus and wine, very nice host, waiter that severed us didn't speak good English, but I don't speak good Portuguese, so I will forgive that. Well worth a visit.

Came across the restaurant while walking through town. Very friendly member of staff approached us and showed us the menu and the restaurant, which is just off the main high street next to Brady's Bar. Booked a table for Monday 19th June. Upon arrival met by staff and given a choice of table around the pool area. Garlic bread and Bruscettta ordered as starters. Garlic bread was huge! Extremely fresh, clearly made there and then. Bruschetta was classic..cannot fault either. 'Mains' were chicken caeser salad with homemade croutons for my partner. I had chicken cataplana with home-made potatas bravas... amazing. Staff couldn't do enough for you, lovely relaxing atmosphere (especially the staff member in the photo)

A little more expensive than most but pay the extra, food is beautifully presented and plentiful. The wife and I shared a tomahawk steak, served with an amazing salad, big pineapple chunk, and half a huge cooked tomato with lovely homemade chips. Our son (much more health conscious) had a Caesar salad, it looked fantastic. Would recommend to all, treat yourself, lovely surrounding by a pool off the main restaurant hill.

Nice setting and great food. Access is up a very steep slope.

A charming oasis off the main street and well worth a visit. Tables nicely situated on a pool terrace. Service is friendly , attentive and professional. Marco was a superb host and a great source of knowledge on local wines . My rib eye steak was perfectly cooked and well presented as was my wife's golden bream. We shall return. Highly recommended!

Just Luv this place. Have been twice now & such a special night out. Wonderful atmosphere, amazing food & service excellent. Definitely worth a visit. 1st time we had a saxophonist play & last time a singer playing guitar....
