Everything was exquisite. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. The place itself is beautiful, the interior design is stunning throughout. The room was gorgeous and the products is the bathroom were great quality. The spa was fabulous. A great selection at breakfast. The concierge organised a picnic for us which was wonderful, I highly recommend asking about that and we also had a private golf class which was great fun and a lovely way to enjoy the course (having no previous experience). I can’t recommend this place enough, a real paradise.

We have been visiting the Vidago Palace every year (except during Covid) since 2016.
I cannot praise the hotel and its staff highly enough. We appreciate the impeccably high standards, in relaxing surroundings, and are always made to feel incredibly welcome.
The hotel has a beautiful, timeless elegance with high quality furnishings, all kept to an immaculate standard.
The quality of food is faultless, throughout the hotel.
Our favourite place to dine is the Cellar Bar, where there’s always a warm welcome from Luis who’s always ready to make helpful suggestions from the delicious menu or introduce us to new local wines… Luis speaks knowledgeably about the local area and was able to make great recommendations for places to visit - Thank you, so much, Luis!
On a personal note I would also like to express my grateful thanks to Mariana and Catarina who always provide an excellent, professional but friendly service, whether in the restaurant, bar or pool area - we miss you all and hope to be back again, soon!

We stayed here 5 days and loved it. We had been walking on the caminho Santiago Portuguese interior and were sore and in need of rest and good food. The spa is small, but nice, and the therapists are excellent. Bar food and restaurant are great. At the restaurant, I highly recommend the dish "strawberries and salmon". The gardens are wonderful. Rooms are comfortable and well designed. There is plenty of hiking and easy walking to be done. It's a little paradise. The staff are really fantastic and I send them a hug and a thank you

I had wonderful time at Vidago Palace. It was very kind of them to put welcome message for me on the TV. All of the service is very good.
Calm and elegant place. The bed is so comfortable.
The food is great. The bedroom was big, the room small but cozy and very clean as everything there. There is a simple and pretty garden for walking

We had the most wonderful time at Vidago Palace! The hotel is stunningly beautiful. The service was the best we'd ever experienced. The staff anticipated and catered to every need. Even the restaurant was fantastic — and our server, Paulo, was very kind and helpful. We can't wait to go back!

MAGICAL
We arrived after dark; so with the lighting of the streets and the entrance to the Palace our arrival was magical and even though we arrived late into the night we were very well received.

The hotel is situated beautifully in the mountains, which doubles down on the idea of relaxing and enjoying God’s creation.

The grounds our well manicured with what looks like a top class golf course (I don’t play).

The spa whilst a super modern design is brilliantly and subtly connected to the main palace.

We had a picnic in the park, which was super romantic (even if I say so myself) with incredible well prepared and presented food.

Allllll the staff were super friendly and very helpful. My only criticism is regarding the uniforms. They are badly designed, ill fitting and look like someone found a box of clothes in the basement from the 1970. The staff deserve better. (The Spa staff by comparison looked super smart)

Health and wellness ought to be a key theme when visiting here

We thank you all and highly RECOMMEND the Vidago Palace Hotel

What a stunning palace. It's really very, very beautiful. Our superior room was very comfortable, especially the bathroom had a nice retro style. Beautiful park to stroll around, and if you are a golfer, you have a challenging course 5 min walk away. Breakfast was average. Especially the cold cuts were not looking very inviting. And have you ever been to a 5 star hotel where you had to pay for boiled eggs? Me neither. But they had a good choice of musli and seeds, also the salmon was very good. Nice bar area, also outside beautiful to sit. And let's come to dinner. We had the tasting menu with pairing wines, and that was absolutely fantastic! We wonder, why there is not yet a Michelin star. It was really delicious. Also the tapas at the wine cellar were excellent. We had a great time, thanks to the team!

We stayed at Vidago Palace for 2 nights and we had such an amazing experience!

Our room was amazing, very spacious and beautifully decorated . The hotel surroundings are just perfect for a walk with beautiful flowers and trees everywhere. I really enjoyed the lake area, very peaceful and calm.

The swimming pool area was great, very spacious and clean. We got a massage at the spa and we loved it. Staff was professional and kind.

We had all of our meals at the hotel, and we got in love with the decoration of Salão Nobre. Food was delicious, very well prepared and presented for every single dish.

We got the change to try the thermal water with some amazing properties.

Our stay here was just perfect and I highly recommend this hotel for relaxing holiday.

Most beautiful hotel I have seen by far. If you are looking to feel like you are in the great gastby movie, don't look any further. Excellent service, great property, charging station for electric cars, great restaurants specially the Wine cellar, makes it one of the greatest hotels in the country and maybe the best in the north of Portugal. Great experience.

Great Hotel, had a classic room which was really nice. Only one night, so no time to test spa or golf course. But the bar offers some very good tasting cocktails. Outstanding service.

Secluded gem of a vintage luxury hotel! We enjoyed our time in nature - early morning walks in the endless palace gardens and the spacious open air pool. The corner junior suite with a balcony overlooking the gardens was comfortable enough for a few days with a teenager but for longer stays 2 standard rooms would have been better. Breakfast is in line with expectations but is very ordinary and not impressive at all but the dinner makes all the difference - atmosphere of the dining room, the service, the exquisite food and the wine selection! My fave portoguese white wine ever found me here!! :) The tapas restaurant in the wine cellar on the other hand is very mediocre.

Our favourite place for a treat. Afternoon tea & cocktails on the terrace or a relaxing spa treatment.

We had a truly amazing and relaxing stay at Vidago Palace.

The property features a beautiful palace of luxury within spectacular scenic and historical scenery. The interior of the hotel is elegant and classically authentic; high ornate ceilings, varnished wood panels and flooring, a sweeping double sided staircase and some of the most beautiful wallpapers you will ever see in an Hotel.

With such a legacy of wellness and that supply of precious iron rich mineral water still bubbling up from the spring, the spa is obviously one of the highlights of this 5 star hotel and the perfect getaway for those seeking a peaceful and relaxed experience in the Portuguese countryside.

The Vidago Palace Hotel is an unforgetable destination for anyone keen to find a five star luxury retreat away from the usual tourist hubs of Portugal.

A true gourmet experience. The memory of this meal will forever be burned in my memory. The wine selection is exceptional. The little touches abound. Friendly and attentive staff (not not bothersome), fresh Orchids at the table, three different gourmet olive oils to try with your bread. The apps that they comped me were extraordinary, I can't even describe them. The soup had so many subtle and complimentary flavors that I thought I was trying a different soup with ever spoonful. I played it safe with the main course, and ordered octopus and it was cooked perfectly, as where the accompanying greens. The atmosphere of this place is nothing shy of luxury, I almost thought that I should have worn a tux for this meal.

Honestly I didn't even explore most of it, due to time constraints (COVID-19 restrictions). However, I got lost in the botanical diversity of trees in such a small garden. Check the opening hours of the fountains before you go.

The Palace Hotel was wonderful in every way. It was very luxurious, Beautiful staircase and dining room. The only fault was we had to wait from 7.30 - 9pm for our starter. We dined in Wine cellar the next evening, which was excellent. Iwould definitely return again.

What an experience! This is a charming, luxurious hotel with wonderful surroundings, good food and friendly staff. I highly recommend the afternoon tea, with high-quality tea and a delicious and varied assortment of finger food and cakes.

Had a very nice stay, beautiful hotel and large rooms with vintage luxury. Relaxed atmosphere, meaning not as posh as similar hotels I have stayed at. Unique garden, with fabulous buildings.

One of the best hotels in Portugal! Luxury at its highest on a very special spot in the North of Portugal. So try the Salão Nobre restaurant with its amazing gastronomy.
