If you really want an authentic experience, this is the place to go. It feels more like you are part of their family, having a meal together. The food was very tasty and the overall vibe of the place is just charming. It is not a fancy touristic restaurant, and indeed you can only pay cash, but it is definitely a place that is worth stopping by if you are in Peniche, if the points mentioned are up your alley.

A cozy little place that makes you feel at home. The owners are very kind and welcoming and make you feel like you belong. The food was excellent and freshly prepared. If we visit peniche again this will be our Nr. 1 place to return to.

Highly recommend this place.
Anna and her daughter Caroline were the best hosts and made our stay more than pleasant. The food was delicious and don't forget to try the homemade desert. We will be back for sure.

If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars I would in a heartbeat. Owned and operated by a local Portuguese family who clearly take pride in the food they offer. If you want true traditional flavors wrapped in the warmest Portuguese hospitality this place is a must!

We were greeted with open arms and had a lovely lunch in this restaurant. The french fries were delicious, the garlic bread rich with olive oil and the fish/rice dishes generous. Prices were comparable to other local restaurants.

This is a fantastic, family run, local restaurant. The service was very warm and friendly, and the food was delicious! I had the shark with clams - highly recommended

Also be sure to enjoy some Ginja after your meal, the family makes their own and it's the best I've had in Portugal - five stars, I'll definitely be back :)

We throughly enjoyed our evening at this delightful, family run restaurant! The clams were excellent, but the whole experience was made even more enjoyable by the warm welcome and creatively decorated interior! It was just so fun meeting the family! This restaurant deserves a place on your “want to go” list! It’s on our favorites list!

Authentic Portuguese food in a cozy atmosphere

The restaurant is rather difficult to be found, not much frequented because it is situated outside the mainstream tourist path, but it is well worth a visit. The restaurant is cozy, and the service is outstanding. It’s a family restaurant and the members are very friendly, very personal and caring. The quality is excellent, the portions very generous and the food delicious. An experience not to be missed when in Peniche. The restaurant is cash only.

Wonderful family restaurant with great food and service. Love the entire family and their humble and friendly manner. And the food is fabulous. Five four top tables in a beautiful atmosphere. Our dining experience was among our favorites during two weeks in Portugal.

Amazing experience here! A family run place that feels very authentic. I tried to order the beef at first but the owner insisted I try the bacalhau hawaii instead. Everything was delicious.

Lovely staff. Great atmosphere and nice traditional seafood. Exactly what we were looking for, and more of a local Peniche feel rather than the fancier restaurants on the main strip. Recommended!

Where to start? The perfect experience for me and my family, if you are looking for a fast food restaurant this is not your place to go, and please don't even read this review any further, however if you are looking for a special time with family and friends in a familiar and unique environment, ohhh men and don't even remember any other better place.
Let's start from the beginning, small and cosy restaurant almost like you are eating at your own dinner table at home, the waiters will make sure that you are comfortable and ready to eat, they check on you to make to sure you are fulfilled and ready to eat or order more, they are very welcoming and talkative, they speak multiple languages and I assure you will love the passion of them.

The kitchen... Ohhhh lord the kitchen... Do you know how rarely his nowadays to find a home cooking kitchen? No microwaves or frozen food? It's RARE trust me. They don't use that, all the ingredients are local and biological from the region, the fish is brought from a mile away from the shores of peniche and the meat is mostly national with the exception of the Brazilian picanha that naturally is tasteful as is worldwide known. Related from my own experience in the restaurant, the food was delicious, I went to the heaven and came back with the octopus and wild prawns. My family (5 people) they all shared the same experience with different plates, my younger sister had Picanha with onions on which she loved, my mom had the local Bitoque that was very flavoured and well served, my dad had the same as me and he keeps saying that he wants to go back, and my wife she loved the Beef a la Portuguese. If I had to rate from 0-10 my eating experience I want to be really honest and say 11.

At last but not least, this is a family business, all the staff are interconnected, they are really all family, on which I have a soft spot, because the restaurant businesses nowadays are corrupted, on a daily basis we see restaurants that are owned or either by big investors or companies, so it's exciting to find this gems in the very heart of Peniche. The appearance of the restaurant is so inviting, that once you in you don't want to come back.

In terms of price/quality, the quality of both food and service surpass by a long mile the price on which I didn't find pricy at all. I paid something about 100£/115€ for 5 people and we had Sangria, lots of drinks, entrances a very humble price for the quality I promise you that.

Please if you are near Peniche, don't hesitate to visit S.Pedro, specially if you are with your loved ones, because they will give you a very special time.

The place was absolutely wonderful words cannot do it justice. The owner, his wife, and daughter were the kindest and most welcoming people we had met while here in Portugal. They treated us like family, and were just very kind people. The restaurant is small, and cozy with charming atmosphere, with fresh grown herbs out front of the window. The owner makes his own wine and Ginja which he shared with us. We have been traveling around, and we have eaten in Lisbon, Peniche, and Cascais, hands down this place was the best food we have had in all of Portugal. The seafood was cooked perfectly and so fresh. We cannot say thank enough to them for their hospitality. If we ever come back here from the states this place will be on the list to stop by for sure.

The best Portuguese food in Portugal. I have been there many times and never ate the food that I ate in this small restaurant. There is no words to describe how delicious the food was. JUST GO, it's worth it 👌.

Amazing local restaurant, with nice food and service. You usually have to wait quite some time for the food, because only 2 men cook there, but it is definitely worth it. I am definitely coming there again.
