Unplanned visit to Peniche led to this restaurant and what a great surprise it was! Great selection of fresh fish with a prompt and friendly service. Owner came to help is cut the fish. The quality if the food was so good we ended up coming here twice!

Great restaurant.

Specialising in fish, but does have good meat options as well. Most people come for the sardines but many other great fish dishes to choose from.

A bit hidden away in the small streets of Peniche, so not as visible as the other restaurants along the main street, but worth the search.

Waiters were friendly and service was fast even though they were fully booked. Would suggest booking a table if going on the weekend.

Highly recommended.

Best tip from a local. off the beaten path. everything autethic. the dorada was super crispy and fresh, the grilled octopuss was hot and on spot, every thing very well done, we loved it our gray haired server, he did it just perfect! thank you!

We stopped in Peniche on the way to Nazare , went for a stroll in the sun , met a local man handing out leaflets for this restaurant and he showed us the way there.

It could have gone either way but he led us to a little lane with colourful bunting overhead and a restaurant tucked away and full of customers & a great buzz. The main restaurant was booked but they directed us to their other dining space 2 steps away - with the proviso that this space did not cook sardines. Ok so !

Service was fast and efficient with no time for the staff to rest as it was just so busy. We had the excellent shrimps to start with warm crusty bread and the grilled local fish as a main. All was delicious especially washed down with the crisp cold glass of Planalto white wine. Desserts were fantastic - the cheesecake and passion fruit panacotta.
We left with full tummies and a smile on our faces for this unplanned meal. But that’s what holidays are for..!

The freshest fish I've had so far, the grilled dourada was amazing.
We also had octopus which was great but could have been hotter as it went rubbery when cold.
Overall decent prices for the amount of food and friendly staff. Lots of staff around but not many actually serving tables which made us wait quite long to get the bill.

A terrific spot, tucked into a narrow back road in “downtown” Peniche. Called and booked a table at the last minute, they were very accommodating. SO glad we came here. From the cooks taking a quick break outside who greet you with a smile, to the line staff watching over the amazing fresh fish line-up right outside the restaurant, the line of staff you can see through glass working their butts off in the kitchen, to the impeccable and professional wait staff and service, to the absolutely delicious feast we were treated to, this place has it all. Fresh fresh fish, cooked to perfection (I was worried about the reviews that said the grilled fish was too dry but ours wasn’t - it was moist and perfect). We had swordfish, sea bream, sole, sardines, and sand shark. Clams with cilantro and garlic, shellfish soup. We had a few special requests that were accommodated without a hitch. The dining room is bustling and the vibe is relaxed and also attentive. Dining room is a tad loud - just know that going in. Will come back here again! Thanks, A Sardinha!

Excellent seafood dishes and great sangria

Great restaurant, with fantastic service and super fresh fish that was done wonderfully. It was a great surprise, we will definitely be returning!

Incredible place with great Staff. We took grilled dorada, which we could choose from the fancy fridge. Waiter helped us with bones and was to kind. Everything was so fresh and tasty! Wine was really good and we paid about 35Euros for everything! High recommended place!

Great place in Peniche. Just a little of the main tourist areas. Great for fresh fish and seafood specialties. We ordered Arroz de gambas for 2. Very good base and actually amazing overall. My only side comment was we were expecting larger shrimp jn the casserole and they were actually small. Our wonderful waiter was very helpful and so accommodating he asked the chef to put in a few clams for my benefit. Good stop and not overpriced or tourist trap.

Really nice place, friendly stuff and good food. What else would you ask for :) A small tip of you are taking the dishes for 2 people there probably be enough for 3 people, because portions are pretty big. The prices are reasonable and the fish is delicious 👌🏼

Amazing Patio, food very well prepared and polite.

A special mention to Filipa (I ask her name) as since I get inside the patio her smile and professionalism captivate my attention. I told her in person in the end thar her smile and professionallism didn't went unnoticed as people like her makes the house also.

Absolutely delicious octopus! The food is great, we only had fish - dorada, octupus and cod - all phenomenal. The wine was great. Not expensive at all, they accept credit cards and the staff was friendly and helpful despite the fact that the restaurant was full.

Great food. Some things are a little pricey, but for the most part very affordable and tasty. Octopus is great. So is the fresh fish of the day.

Great local experience. Really liked the chocos (Cuttlefish). What is it with eggs and beefsteak in Portugal?

Great and fresh cooked food, table service was fantastic, all staff very polite,a fantastic atmosphere and busy, because it's a great restaurant.

Really nice food! Different prices and there is "tourist menu" where for 10e is soup+fish plate+dessert+coffee 🙂

We asked two local people randomly for advice and both pointed us to this beautiful place. We ordered a caldereta de peixe and it was absolutely wonderful. Great quality, and very good price, will come back!
