Great food, great prices definitely recommend.
The prices on the tables are slightly different from the bar. Nobody there speaks English but you can communicate what you want.

This is an authentic local Portuguese restaurant. The food is delicious and affordable. The staff are friendly and patient( as we all did not understand each other). Highly recommend the calamari salad, the steak and potatoes as well as the pork and potatoes. Definitely will be back! It is cash only just fyi.

Had dinner here while on a day trip in Porto, small family owned, very good chicken, rice, chips (fries) and chocolate mousse. Would definitely recommend

If you really want to experience the true Portuguese food, do eat here. It's really busy during the popular meal time, so go after 2 PM or before 6. Also, it's cash only so bring money with you. Everything we ordered was fantastic.

Sometimes the best places are hidden and don’t look the part. Don’t be fooled by these old school taverns. These are exactly the ones you need to go to to embrace the culture and great food. Everything - bifanas, rissois, basteis de bacalhau…

Amazing local food at a superb price. Just €14 for two meals plus sangria. They only speak Portuguese but they're friendly and make sure they get the right order. Cash only tho!

I loved this restaurant so much! It's simple, authentic, and incredibly affordable! The food is typically Portuguese, good and straightforward. A big thank you to the elderly gentleman who served us! Obrigado!

Really nice place to eat in downtown Porto. It is a very basic restaurant, a big variety of local dishes and really tasty. Overall, it is recommended for a good meal.

This place is incredible! We ordered (with the help from Google translate) a whole chicken for take out and was the best chicken we’ve had in a while. Based on other reviews we anticipated that they spoke limited English so were prepared with the translation. Took just a couple of minutes until it was ready to go, and cost less than €6!!

Not sure why there are any bad reviews on this place - just set your expectations and understand you’re in Portugal (ironically where they speak Portuguese!!!) and restaurants here don’t operate the same as they do in Canada or the US with constant attention of the staff.

It gets incredibly busy here and fills up quickly, but you would be doing yourself a disservice for not stopping by.

Next time in Porto we will definitely be eating from here again.

Just a call out this is cash only joint, so make sure to have cash on you.

Local food experience! The food is cheap; the staff were a few seniors who don’t speak English but try their best to make sure you get the options right. They were very patient, as we didn’t speak Portuguese, so ordering food was a bit trouble. But another patron translated for us, then things went smoothly. The food was amazing and plentiful for the price. If you are looking for a hole-in-the-wall experience, this is the place to go!

The food was delicious! We only paid €14.5 for two adults! We shared a full portion and a half portion meal. The complimentary fresh bread was really yummy as well.

Fantastic place serving traditional Portuguese food. I’ve been to this restaurant several times and they never let me down. The people working there are really nice and helpful although they don’t speak much English. The menu changes daily and there is always something interesting to eat. A fabulous bifana is also on the menu, only for 1.9€ (in bread) - better and cheaper than anywhere else in Porto!
Be aware, when you sit at the bar or at the small table (for two) you may order the “economy” plates for better price. But the other platters aren’t that much more expensive and the portions are larger, so it’s a bargain either way.

Come have very cheap and very tasty local food. Don't expect to be treated specially. This place is for locals and no one will accommodate English speakers beyond playing a bit of point to what you want on the menu.

The reviews brought me here, but the local vibe, delicious food, and generous prices made this place stand out.

Food was delicious! BBQ chicken was amazing! It came with rice and chips. 1 plate was definitely enough for 2 people.
Due to the language barrier, the old lady gave us a small bottle of red that she said we asked for when I only asked for a very small rose. Anyway, the small bottle was cheap so we just took it. A meal for 2 adults and 2 children, a basket of bread (we didn't ask for), 2 wines and a large bottle of water cost €23.10. Excellent value with good quality food.
