Ana was SO amazing, she had someone pick us up from the airport and took us to the shop. She walked us through the contract and made sure we felt comfortable getting in the car and taking off. She also gave us a map of the island and pointed out her dining recommendations and favorite places to go! The car was in great shape, and easy to drive with the nav system. I had rented a car from them before, and will continue to rent cars here when I come back to the island.

We booked a car for 4 days long, and we loved it so much. The Auto Rent a Car is a professional company, we got a lot of tips about our trips. Everybody was nice and helpful. We will choose it next time.

My dad has rented off of Ana and Rafael the last 3 times they have been to Madeira and this time, it was myself and my girlfriends turn! Absolutely fantastic service! Picked up from the airport, very friendly greeting and lots of tips and places to see around the island! Very comfortable and clean car and they also organised a taxi for us from our accommodation in Funchal to the airport at 4am in the morning! Couldn't recommend this family enough! Had a GREAT experience renting from Auto Rent a Car and highly recommend them!

Overall, I was very satisfied with the condition and abilities of the car and we felt very safe driving it, especially on the steeper streets. I definitely appreciated having a rental to be able to explore the island and I don't think we would've has nearly as much of a great experience if we had to rely on public transportation or taxis. The service was also fantastic and our Seat Ibiza was more than capable for the hilly and windy roads of Madiera. This place has a mom and pop feel but is also run very efficiently and professionally. Safe travels!

I was skeptical that the reviews were too good to be true, but it was a great company! Rodrigo and his wife Anna were so nice! They arranged to pick us up from the airport for 20 euro which is cheaper than a taxi. Then when we did the paperwork, Rodrigo pretty much planned an itinerary for us! I recommend turning on your voice recorder so you can go back and Re- listen lol. Unfortunately I lost the map he marked out for me. Anyway, driving on the other side of the road wasn’t for me and I actually returned the car and they were so helpful meeting me at the car to make it easier for me. Also the car was in great condition!!!

Excellent service from booking, pickup and collection. Car was delivered to hotel at no extra cost. Arrived onetime, car was clean and performed well on the Madeira roads. Android auto was great for navigation all over the island. Great value and options for paying without credit cards. Highly recommend this car rental company.

Super friendly hosts, helped with every question I had and even planned a tour with a must see local recommendations! Offered car was there on a spot, and the car itself was really nice, new and powerful enough to overcome every mountain without a problem. As promised, here's the video. Amazing service from an independent business. When receiving the car the staff provided me with great hints and tips on the best locations for food, sightseeing and also great advice on how to drive in madeira, as it is very hilly. My car was unbelievable quality (seat ibiza) . Thank you airorentacar for a fantastic friendly service! I will be back next year!

Great service! Would recommend this rental car company to anyone visiting the island. We got picked up from our hotel, and dropped off after. They gave us a map of the island with local recommendations of restaurants and places to visit. Very friendly. Also gave us a bit of a tour while picking us up/dropping us off.

Initially I was suspicious of the 5.0 rating, but it is well deserved. Hassle-free pick-up & drop-off right from our hotel.

English communication. Debit card payment, no credit card needed. The car was clean and in good condition. They gave us a map with info on which roads to take based on our itinerary so our road trip was smooth.

We have booked 2 cars for 2 days (both with automatic transmission, both were almost brand new - approximately 6500 km for Škoda Fabia and approximately 65000 km for Renault Captur).
Cars were without any scratches, smelled newly, all clean, all worked very well.

We had a great service from auto rent a car. Communicated well with me in UK whilst arranging our trip. When we arrived we were met promptly at the airport and taken to the office to sort out payments etc . We got the car we wanted which was modern and comfortable. I wouldn’t use another company in Madeira for renting a car . Trustworthy friendly and reliable.

We used the group C car (Seat Ibiza) for 10 days - that was perfect. The price, service and quality were just unreal - means unbeatable good. We could deliver the car at the airport and get a little more time to enjoy Funchal before our flight back. The team was uncomplicated, super service and very lovely. We totally recommand autorentacar and will come back next year. Thank you!

A wonderful experience renting through auto rent a car...I recommend them for an easy rental experience. The owners and staff are wonderful. Pick up and drop off service was excellent. I definitely suggest upgrading to a more powerful car because the hills here are serious!

Best car rental experience. We rented renault clio for 5 days, it was relatively new car, good condition and full fuel. We drove 550km around the island and no problem.
Returning car was 30 seconds check and 5 minutes chat about our holiday. This is a nice small company, they recommend you places and restaurants around island and all was good.
No credit card, only cash for fuel deposit.
Would recommend everyone!

Absolutely fabulous company. We had a car rented for a week. It was a new Skoda Fabia powerful enough to go any steep uphill or downhill roads. The car was delivered straight to our apartment place and picked up from the same address. They gave us a map and spent time suggesting and marking POI, and we visited all of them. All the points they suggested for food were a great experience as well (most of them very often used by locals). Great communication. We will definitely use them again anytime back on the island.

Best company for car renting! We had zero problems. Super friendly staff. We got our car delivered to our hotel, got everything explaned and even good tips about the island. Experiencing Madeira with a car is definetly a great experience, because you have all the freedom you need to experience the full island. At the end the car was picked up at the hotel again. Definetly recommend.

Diogo was excellent in communicating via emails, making a reservation was fast and easy. Ana was perfect as well, not only providing us excellent service but also giving us the best Madeira recommendations that none other website could provide.

We rented Seat Ibiza (manual) the car was clean and tidy. Don't be afraid to take a manual, just be confident and evaluate your driving skills.
