Great hike, moderate difficult especially on sunny day. From the house at the end you can pay about 15 EUR per person and go back by a boat, so you can see the cost and marina too. Payment of the 1 EUR entrance fee was not working online, so we did not pay…. Parking can be hard.

We did this hike twice both on a sunny and on a rainy day. When it's dry this hike is a piece of cake. When it gets wet you should really wear good shoes. The rocks become slippery very fast. Overall one of our favourite hikes on Madeira. High cliffs, breathtaking views and lots of tourists. The parking is very busy so you might have to park 10-15 minutes away.

Absolutely worth a visit. If you come by car come early as the parking spaces fill up quickly. There is a service bus option too.
The views are spectacular but its very hilly, rough underfoot with many steps. The info says it's a 3km walk. We didn't manage the whole distance as I had a cold and was struggling. Really enjoyed the section we did reach and hope to come again the next time we visit. Be aware there were no toilet facilities and just a food van at the entrance.

We are not hikers and stopped by this trail in our car to appreciate the beauty and walk around for half an hour, and it was so insanely worth it. After walking only for 10 minutes or so, the views were already phenomenal, and I wished I was an experienced hiker who could see this beauty from all angles. It is worth it to come here even for a few minutes, as it isn't hard to walk to the first view point (you do have to wear comfortable shoes though - the more grip the better, as it is quite slippery).

Amazing trail, one of the best spots on Madeira. Be prepared for a hike and have good shoes. If you are scared of hights try going only half ways. First part is pretty easy :) It is crowded and parking is packed, so choose either morning or evening hours.

One of the best hikes in Madeira. Top… we went early… but then the restaurant was still closed and the toilet as well… take that in consideration… but on the other hand less people… makes the hike cooler

This was my 4th hike at this absolutely incredible place. Every time I come here, I'm always amazed at its stunning beauty and love the physical challenge of making it to the last climb. There also just happens to be a beautiful patio and restaurant just before the end of the trail to get refreshed and have a rest. What a perfect hiking trail :)

Great trail for everyone but a lot of tourists even during the week ! Unique view which is really different comparing to the middle and the west part of the island. You should bring trail’s shoes and a bottle of water ! Even though there is a restaurant almost at the end or food trucks at the beginning of the track. You can come back to the parking thanks to the boat from the restaurant which cost 15€/person.

One of the best trial on the Island 😍. This 6-kilometre round trip trail tooks about 3h. But remember this is not a walk along the coast, be prepared for a bit of climbing.
Good shoes will be useful, the ground is rocky in some places, slippery in others and clayey. Be careful with the handrails made of metal ropes - they fray here and there and you can cut your hands. There is no problem with parking in the afternoon - most people are already back.
Entry: €1.

Must visit when on Madeira! The full route takes about 4 hours. It’s better to arrive before 10 am, otherwise it would be very difficult to find a parking lot. At 12 pm the route gets overcrowded. It’s not the easiest hike, choose comfortable sneakers. The only toilet is located almost at the very end of the route (at the cafe).

This is a must-do to anyone coming to visit Madeira. Not only the path is quite easy, around 1h15 each side, but the views are really amazing, being able to see both the north and the south of the island. If you still have time and or strength, just behind the bar there's a way up to the top of the mountain, the way up is hard and steep, but the feeling of accomplishment when you're up there will make it worth it.

In our last day we went to this place almost at the end of the Island, try to go early as possible because parking very busy otherwise you may need to park by the town and walk. Beautiful landscaping and stunning views the path are narrow sometimes you may need to wait for someone goes by. There is a caffee place, and bathroom cos 1 eur and you need to wait. If you are tired there is an option go back by speedboat but try to seat in the back, water get rough cost about 15 eur per person and does not run frequently

This is definitely a must see!! The views are just stunning!! You are lucky if you get to see the sun shine, as you can see on my pics, the colors change radically! You can leave the car in a parking next to the beginning of the trail. It’s not really an easy hike, it’s not long but it’s rather difficult, a lot of steps!!!

This is my favourite place in Madeira. If you are limited in time and need to prioritize places, this one should be leading in the list. The views are spectacular here and the trail is well maintained. However make sure you have some whater with you and sufficient time - you will easily spend 3-4h there. And make sure you go till the end! There are multiple quite big free parkings on the way and right at the entry of the trail. Access to the territory is also free - they ask to share 1€ to maintain the way though which is nothing for what you get, but even this isn't mandatory

We arrived at 6:30 to watch the sunrise but it takes a lot longer to get to the point you can watch sunrise than we expected. It took an hour to get to a decent point and if you want to watch it from the top it takes even longer. Still it was very beautiful hike definitely recommended to be done early as it gets very hot and busy. It took us 3.5 hrs with a little breakfast break. 7.6km in total.
There’s an 1€/pp entrance fee, paid via qr code.

Beautiful hike with a unique scenery on the ocean, cliffs and bays on the most eastern part of the island.
Definitely recommend to go here, but the last peak can be pretty tough and steep.
There is a fair amount of elevation gain, and also there is no shadow, so prepare with sunscreen.

A wonderful place for easy hiking or longer walks full of amazing views. Due to the frequent changes in the weather, I recommend taking clothes suitable for rain and wind. In season, the trails can be quite crowded.

Very nice hike with moderate intensity, quite a bit of climbing up. Also, a large portion of the track is covered with an old metal wire as a makeshift handrail, it is split in places so watch out so you won't hurt your hands. The whole area gets green during the winter months which somewhat reminds me of Ireland a bit. Nice views all around. Can get there from Funchal on 113 Sam bus service.

great hike with nice views from both sides, also with short sidewalks from main route. hike is relatively easy but there are places where little children or old people have it harder but not impossible. definitely recommended

Lots of hidden gems on the route. We took a boat trip(yellow route) back after lunch at the cafe. Nice beer and steak sandwich. Toilet costs one euro.
