Hotel Dom Henrique Downtown

Sitting near the top of a Porto hill, the river and most sites are downhill from this site. Great rooftop bar with reasonably priced wine. Cocktails were a little pricey. But, great place to watch the sunset.

My stay at the Dom Henrique Downtown hotel in Porto was exceptional and offers a free service to store suitcases and bags while you quietly visit the city.
The hotel is ideally located in the city center of Porto, close to many tourist sites and public transport. Trindade, Bolhao São Bento metro station is just a few minutes' walk away, making exploring the city easy.

We stayed in a modern and spacious room. The bedding was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and well equipped.

The buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied, with fresh, quality products. There was something for everyone, sweet and savory.

The hotel's strong point is undoubtedly its rooftop restaurant located on the 17th floor. The panoramic view of Porto is breathtaking and the atmosphere is very pleasant. It's the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing or to have a drink while watching the sunset.

The hotel staff is welcoming, available and multilingual. They listened to our needs. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quality stay in Porto

My experience at this hotel was nice. It is in a great location and made my stay incredibly convenient. The receptionist was professional and pleasant. The breakfast was delicious, there were enough offers. The bar is truly exceptional. My room was tidy, completed with a mini-bar. The only thing was that there were no hangers in the wardrobe but for a two-night stay they were not so much needed.

Lovely hotel. Staff nice. Food nice. Breakfast good. Rooms a reasonable rate. Central location. I would recommend it.

Slightly older luxury hotels are a special and somewhat uncommon sort of gem. They are marked by a couple of specific features - they're a few decades or more old, but were built to high standards, are generally well maintained but perhaps show a little bit of age, and perhaps mostly significantly, continue to be staffed by employees who take pride in representing a venerable location. Dom Henrique definitely falls in this category. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was definitely impressed by the bell, front desk and bar staff who went out of their way to ensure that I had a pleasant stay. I would go out of my way to stay here again and would advise others to do the same.

Also, the bar is a quiet oasis in otherwise busy, touristy Porto. Drinks prices are on par with the surrounding area if not even slightly less, the 60's Brazilian bosa nova soundtrack fits perfectly with the decor, and the 17th story view is not to be missed. The bar might be the best hangout in all of Porto.

Fabulous hotel, good central location with beautiful views of Porto from the restaurant/bar on 17th floor. First class customer service from all hotel staff. Excellent self-service breakfast option.

We went back to this location three times including once with a friend because the rooftop view was just absolutely amazing. Perfect hotel more suited for business. Comfortable and appealing rooms especially on the upper floors with breathtaking views over the old city with grandstand views of sunrise over the mountains and sunset over the distant ocean. Just a 10min brisk walk from the center.

Perfect hotel for a City trip to Porto. Not the newest hotel, but very clean and well organised. Staff and service excellent 👍. Roof top bar and restaurant 17 is a perfect place to enjoy the evening.

Stayed here before and after the COVID. Recommend for its location, clean and well maintained room and friendly service. The breakfast is decent and with quick service.
The top floor bar is a nice place to enjoy the view to the city and drinks.
Just few minutes to the nearest metro station and downhill to one of the traditional marketsin the city.

It’s a basic room, clean, and ac works. No complaints. It’s easy to walk downtown, maybe 15-20 min walk downhill.

Good hotel. We had a nice view from the 12th floor. We enjoyed the breakfast. Rooms can be a bit warm in February but that might be our taste, AC didn't do much.
There is a roof top bar but we didn't expect that people are allowed to smoke there. As it's not too big you're definitely in the sigaret smoke. I would like them to not allow smoking there so all the guests can enjoy the view from the roof top bar.

Roof top bar a must. Room came with complimentary bottle of sekt and breakfast on the patio was great. Location is walking distance to city center. Bus stops at the front door.

Beautiful view from the suite on the 16th floor, breakfast is very good, the breakfast area is slightly small for a hotel of this size other than that everyone is perfect. The rooms are impeccable cleaned every day. Staff are all very friendly. Centrally located on a quiet area. Close to the main shopping road Rua Santa Caterina.
