This is an evaluation of the restaurant only. We have eaten a couple of times here. Every time we really enjoyed the food and service. At lunch time it’s worth looking at the menu on the wall with specialities of the day. We recommend this restaurant

Our entire party bar me went for the steak on the stone and everyone seemed impressed. Sizzling when it arrived and allowed everyone to cook it as they wanted. As a vegetarian, there wasn’t an awful lot of choice but the cheese omelette was great. Staff were really lovely, the atmosphere was great. We managed to get a table without booking but it is definitely a place that gets busy - and with good reason! - so would be good to book. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant restaurant serving local dishes including steak cooked on hot stone. Generous portions and good value for money. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Choice of either indoor or outdoor seating

Best food and service in Alvor, fresh fish to die for!

Buganvilla is always busy. It is best to book a table, not to be disappointed. I had a shrimp salad starter (in the picture). The main course was swordfish steak, which was so big it almost filled the plate it came with potatoes and fresh vegetables. Will definitely dine here again.

Fillet steak on a stone. It was so well seasoned I couldn't fault it. Great food. Very reasonable as well. Definitely coming back here.

Fantastic restaurant. Friendly people, great fresh fish, practically just pulled out of the ocean, well cooked, tasty, ... Parking is not easy in July or August because of the tourists. It seems that is the case all over the southern Portugal in this time of the year!! Highly recommend the experience.

Lovely restaurant from the staff to the food. Had one of the most tender steaks that I’ve eaten since living in Alvor. Great value for money and we’ll be coming back.

We have visited this restaurant 3 times over 19 years it really is the best place for fresh fish!
Excellent friendly staff and a lovely relaxing atmosphere.
Perfect for swordfish and a glass or two of red.
Hopefully we will return sooner next time

Buganvilia has been the best restaurant I have tried in Alvor. Their daily menu has a huge variety of fish, and they offer a great range of meats too. Simply put the service is fast, the house wine is great and served at a perfect temperature. The fish was grilled to perfection, juicy and soft, while the meat, we went for the option on the stone, was tender and flavourful.

Have used this place before on a few occasions when holidaying in Alvor and no complaints.
Very central location, clean nice accommodation with a balcony that caught the sun late afternoon - early evening, fridge and kettle. Room serviced daily and now has secure carparking to the rear.
Will use again.

One of the most popular restaurants in Alvor. Have been coming here for years. Be sure to book a table. This place offers great food with a smile, can't really fault it. Although all the food is great you must certainly try out the stone on steak.

Great meal had by family. 2 steaks on stones, plus king prawns and bottle of wine, coke, water, bread, olives etc beforehand and all for under £50. Was packed though, which is obviously a good sign.

Fillet steak on a stone is so good. Its quite a large piece of beef and the stone is hot enough to cook it to your exact liking. The wine was cheap too.
