Bosman´s The Dolphin Restaurante

We loved it!! The food was delicious and everyone at the restaurant was so nice and welcoming. A must go for some traditional South African food and great atmosphere!

Wow. We had previously eaten at the restaurant ( well over a decade ago ) and wanted someplace special for our anniversary.
We were able to reserve a table on the day - and had the best experience at a restaurant in a long time.
The menu is very good with ample options to choose from.
The staff is absolutely amazing. Awesome system and every one works well together with the others.
Food was fantastic and I especially loved the home made fruit chutney.
The deserts were truely South African and it was a great evening
If you feel like something else in the Luz Lagos area - make sure you give Bosman’s a try !

I had dinner there with friends this weekend. I had the bunny chow and Malva pudding. The lamb meat was excellent quality. The curry was wonderfully flavorful. The service was friendly, attentive and efficient without making you feel rushed and they never seemed flustered regardless of the amount of tables they were serving during the dinner rush. I’m still shocked to have had such an amazing South African experience outside of South Africa. I live a five hour drive away, I would make the trip again to visit Bosman’s

I never expected to find a South African restaurant in a small little beach town in Portugal.
Absolutely amazing food, great atmosphere and the super friendly service. It was such a treat to taste South African dishes and hear and speak Afrikaans again.
Would highly recommend it, their seafood and meat dishes are amazing and if you are a wine lover it's the restaurant for you.

What a lovely evening we had at The Dolphin... and we are sure to return soon. We went all out with shots, a good bottle of red, three tasty dishes each, and loads of fun. The staff was absolutely great, all of them. From drinks in the bar to the professional service with a smile (I'm sure there were smiles underneath the masks), it was super. All three of us had very different dishes and we had different experiences. Not everything from the kitchen had the same standard as the service and the drinks. But in saying that... I think we all ate everything until the very last bite and that should tell you enough. I highly recommend The Dolphin to anyone...

I found this restaurant on a whim. We arrived as soon as they opened and the seats were filling quickly. They greeted everyone but the regulars received hugs, it was endearing to watch. I was able to get seated immediately and the service from the time I graced the doorway was top tier.

I ordered the fisherman's delight, dried beef and avacado dip and my friend ordered the seabass with baked potato. I have no complaints everything was full of flavor. The decor is nice and if you want to see the sunset that is definitely a possibility from this restaurant. Disclaimer as the restaurant filled it did get very noisy.

True SA flavours and service.

Menu decisions were a bit tough, with some great SA favourites. We enjoyed piri-piri chicken livers, a great bunny chow that was a bit like Durbs on a plate, served with some fab atchar and a bottle of tasty sweet chutney. The Rib-eye steak with baked potato and sour cream was outstanding!

Let us not forget the extra space we had to find for delicious little koek sisters!

This is a place we visit every time we go to Luz without fail, it's reserved as one of our 'fancier' restaurants on visits but is well worth the price! The food is always incredibly tasty and the servers/owner are always very attentive and wonderfully professional in their approach to service. I'd recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat as you wouldn't be disappointed!

Love this restaurant, I've been here before on previous holidays. And was excited to bring my fiancé to try it, so we came for his birthday. We weren't staying in the area, we drove from Lagoa to come and it was worth the drive.

The food is incredibly tasty, so much flavour! And the staff are professional and very welcoming. When I told them why we were visiting they brought out a little slice of cake and sang happy birthday which was a lovely touch.

Highly recommend the Patesca (if you like spice), Ostrich Capacious, Bobotie, Potjiekos and the Peppermint dessert!

If you're not staying here and driving, it's much easier to park at the beach front lot at the bottom of Rua da Varzea and enjoy a beach front walk then head up the hill..

Absolutely fantastic South African food in a very cosy and friendly atmosphere, run by a family. The menue features fish and meat dishes as well as vegetarian choices. The food quality was excellent, the service very, very friendly and always caring about guests. Deserts are outstanding. Electronic Payment is possible. 5 stars, we definitely come again.

Food was nice. The Steak was nice but I wasn’t fond of the sauce, Fishermans platter was nice but I would’ve preferred a bigger portion. Service was the best service I have ever had, and atmosphere was great. Overall great place, would recommend. Edit: Went again, got calamari which was beautiful, nice crispy breading with tender meat, and as for my main, LOVELY, I recommend the steak. The pudding was sooo good, it was called the Karoo Pudding, it was very good, similar to a sticky toffee pudding, but better, come here if you want the best restaurant in Portugal.

Staff always attentive but without being pushy. Food is beautifully presented and cooked just right. Would recommend for a really good place to dine in Luz

We went there on a wednesday evening at 20h without reservation, so we had to come back 30min later to be seated but it was 100% worth the wait.

Mouthwatering ribs, the fillet was on point and the mushroom sauce to die for. The owner and waiters are all very sweet and very quick and thoughtful.

Will gladly come again when we visit Luz.

This Resturant is a must when you come to Luz. Very professional owner operator with a great team. Fantastic food and service. Our family absolutely loved their meals. They serve fantastic South Africian dishes..

Been coming here for years and haven’t had a single bad meal or service. Exceptional food and the staff are extremely attentive, we love it!

Fantastic food, quick service and staff very helpful. Fresh produce, cooked to perfection, bit on the pricey side but worth a shot!

What an amazing meal. You should definitely visit this restaurant when next in Luz. And try the Durban Lamb Curry.. It was fantastic.
